Try adding a bit of lubricant to the motor. Use something like a bit of silicone lubricant, not WD-40. Over time, the high heat environment will cause the oil the factory used to degrade.

You can check the voltage out of the thermopile to see if it matches the new one

I had a couple of them but my clumsy self kept knockin em off the stove and the started to tick,tick,tick,tick...ya get the idea. I ended up throwin them out like a fool but thats when I had money..you know the saying..anyways,you can always order a new Pelter and replace it. Im sure you will figure it out. Hope all is well

How close can you get a candle (or lighter} to each before it blows it out?

only candles I know we have are in jars, so that wouldn't work. I may have to find a cancel we can use if I can find one before the stove is done for the year.
