Have you ever considered decoupling the the fan/motor from the Peltier power generator? In this way, you could submerge sink A in ice water cooler with sink B outside the cooler. Mount the fan in the lid of the cooler. Would this produce an air cooler? Certainly you’ve investigated this approach. Just curious if it would work? Handy for camping.

Infrared is not about heat radiation. What you mean is a heat sensitive camera.

I am using my stove fan for my portable buddy heater. Because I am traveling with it and it is going in and out of a bag for transport, having that circle to protect the fan blades from damage/bending is helpful. Do you make a model that has one? Could you make one out of mesh or wire so the air/heat can get through and not block the air but still protect the fins from damage?

Snake oil buddy. Put a electric fan near stove, either point it at it or get it to blow into room. Electric fan on low, cost a pittance to run and gets that warm air moving more than a stove fan will ever do.

True, but it does look worse and you have to turn it on and off. I like the stove fan, installed once it will always work and makes far less noise. Also my entire cabin uses 30w of electricity, a fan would almost double that.

Guys right about those stove top fans. They are feel good toys. You need a fan that blows all around the stove. Most woodstoves come with a fan that blows air through a jacket of steel. Far more heat goes into the house instead of up the chimney. The concept is cool but output is very lame.

If power goes out and you're running an insert with a blower, it might be good to have a good cfm thermal fan.

I think what's more important than moving the air is pulling more energy from the exhaust pipe with a pipe mounted fan. Or mre heat sinks. So more heat stays in the room.

No theyre not snake oil. Using a small electric fan it was too much air movement. It cools the stove down too fast on overnight burns. You have to dump more oxygen into the wood stove. It shortens burn times about 2-3 hours for me. The stove top fans don't do this. They provide a nice gentle quiet flow of air to the room. Having used both, the stove top fans are the way to go in my application.
