2:40 : Meter mounting plate of my Thunderbird used to break every 2-3 months interval due to vibration. Now I have fitted two plates simultaneously one over another. Mounting plate nearer to meter is having grommets and the other one without grommet. No meter vibration, no plate break since last one year. Bikers facing similar issue may try this method.

One more issue i personally faced ... the petrol tank lid is not water-tight. Due to this, water can seep into the petrol tank during the rains and if that happens, the bike will just not run because of the water mixed with petrol. During one of my initial monsoon rides, it was an absolute nightmare as i just couldn't find out what the problem was. I contacted the concerned people and they had accepted the problem. The only solution they could offer was to put a plastic cover over the lid, something which i had figured out myself. Its a shame that a bike which costs 1,70,000 bucks in mumbai, is completely useless without the 20 bucks plastic cover. Its like buying an Armani suit with filmsy buttons. So be careful guys before going for the Thunderbird.

You r right all about the problems of TB. I also experienced the meter holder break after 12000km. I also donot find spare of it , so going welding shop, they joined and repair it with extra metal sheet for strength, now this thing not vibrating. Speedometer cable also problematic when doing off-road ride, sometimes speedometer meter didnot work if u fall hard on potholes. I contact with RE service but they have no solution over it. Rear wheel puncture is one of miserable thing ever. No puncture mechanic would assemble/disassemble the rear wheel. I already done it for 2 times after watching youtube videos 😢. It takes almost half to one hour to assemble/disassemble. I also keep a small pressure size air pressure gauge, bcoz most of puncture shop has large one, and it cant fit to check rear wheel air pressure. Before I ride my TB350, i always pray god only one thing is not for flat tyre. ,☺☺

@robertfrostl 7 жыл бұрын
Hey Mathew, this is really true, the same things happened with me. Flat rear tyre- paid 200 for the repair. The meter console problem is true really true, i am at 14521 Kms and its console came out because that supporting metal sheet broke. totally disappointing. And i will take care of the third one, the meter cable you're talking about. Thanks friends this is a true review and now i feel good, coz earlier i thought that i am driving too rash that is why i am facing these problems, but now i think that its a manufacturer's flaw. Thank you very much Mathew!

Solutions: 1 & 2 - Buy seelin tyre sealant - Rs 1500 for tube tyres. - Just forget punctures after that it can take 200 punctures. 3 - console mounting plate can be fabricated using metal plate. 4 - cable burn - you have to notice that part.

On 28 Apr I brought Pulsar 180 BS4 but I also planned TB before that and the price which was off my budget, I was seen more 2 guys who were intrested in new himalaya and we all was present at same time for bike quotations, then sudden 1 person come with towing van with his new himalaya and start abusing those RE dealer persons and advisers for such a faulty bike, after some time we all 3 go to that boy and asked what happen and he sudden get so hot on himalaya quality, this was 3rd time when his bike faced magnetic coil failure in 4 month of his owner ship and he told us many cons and quality issues regarding RE, we all 3 suddenly leaved that dealer and I went to Bajaj dealer and surprise those 2 other guys also came there at same time, we both s great each other and I booked 180 cc Pulsar and they booked dominer 400, this shows that many people has rejected RE and goes for other product.......

+Sushonfire b Hi Sunshonfire, my first bike was a Bajaj Pulsar 220 and so i can properly understand the differences between the RE and the Bajaj... as far as quality is concerned bajaj cannot be even compared with RE... yes bajaj gives u great value for money but it does come in with its cons... Moreover for anyone who owns an RR its mostly the bomd that he creates with the bike... and therefore most RE owners maintain the bike pretty well inspite of the higher maintanence cost.... and so the bike performs well for them too.. so the difference basically is in the outlook towards the bike....

So far I have faced many problems with this bike. There is no doubt that I am a RE lover. I own thunderbird 350 since January 2016. There are couple of problems which I have faced as a rider. 1. Electrical Wiring Issues. 2. Oil Leakage from the engine 3. Clamp on which console is mounted, has broken due to bad quality. 4. Fuel indicator shows wrong reading even if fuel tank is full. 5. Handle bar gets loose frequently. 6. Gears are really very harsh even after lubricating the chain after every 250 kms of ride. 7. Mirrors also got loose from its housing. I never park bike in open area. I never over accelerate. I never go in 5 gear before speed reaches above 60-65 kmph. I never apply water on engine and electric areas of the bike. I never miss the service. -all the free services are finished on time and regularly go for paid service also after every 2500-3000 kms I always clean the bike chain with "chain clean" and "chain lube". Am I missing anything to care this bike ? Can anyone tell me ? My message to RE : Please improve the finish of quality of this bike. Tired, disappointed....................... want to sell this bike

Can I tell, you should definitely go for it, Buy a single owner bike, try to get a bs3 engine. Buy 350 cc not a 500. 2014 to 2015 model is really good. Don't pay more than 75 K. No matter how good it is.. I have solution for all the problems in this video... But his video was genuine 2 years before.. Rinku Mathew /; hi bro.. I just wanna know about the Thunderbird that whether it vibrates much at a high speed. at what speed does it begin to vibrate? and is that intense when the bike is throttled to its maximum speed?
@TravelVlogsbyRinkuMathew
@TravelVlogsbyRinkuMathew 7 жыл бұрын
+victor paul Hi , taklking about vibrations, the bike has a small vibration even at idle which i think is a charecteritic of all RE... but i have not experienced any abnormal vibrations below the 4500 rpm range....the only case where i have felt it is during aggressive throttling and gear changes... then off maximum speeds, yes there are vinratons above 110 km/hr... below that its just the strain in the engine that most people wrongly intepret to be intense vibrations.... but note the fact that the thunderbird is a cruser with a crusing speed of around 80-90 km/hr... in that range there is no so called vibrations....

I have been using tb350 bs3 for past 6 years and covered over 70000+ kms on meter. I first thing you don't need to change the whole meter console if the clamp breaks off, you always have part available in royal Enfield service centres (part code 594968/A). I never had any other issues what you mentioned. One real issue all the tb owners will have is who rides with pillion over hill stations is rear disk Break failure or a jam, I have tried all the options available except replacing the disk assembly nothing worked.

Hey!! Hope you are doing fine. I am planning to buy a bike but i am confused between 2 bikes. Should I go for Avenger 220 Street or TB 350. I am also planning to visit Leh Ladakh once I get my bike. So probably I would use it for a long trip nd in the city. Roads are good in Chandigarh. So, what do you think? Thanks
@TravelVlogsbyRinkuMathew
@TravelVlogsbyRinkuMathew 7 жыл бұрын
Both are tourer bikes and do their task perfectly.. RE is a relation that u make which highlights ... but having said the avenger does most of the work done by Tb with almost 70k less the price....so if u are a real RE fan go for the thunderbird... if you are on a neutral stand then the avenger could be more than enough for u

I have a question abt Thunderbird pillion seat space problem... is it comfortable???... 2009 model Thunderbird have single seat and long pillion rest which is comfortable for pillion seaters... now they put some gray pillion rest which makes low space for pillion seat..?? my question is shall we remove the gray thing and make a long seat and put long pillion rest??? hope you understand my question...☺😊😊

+Arun Kumar hi arun , this is something i guess i wont be able to give u much information on. Because most of the trips that i go on are solo rides and hence i have not come across this problem.. having said that , i have also made trips with pillion a few times and never have i heard any complaint from them also... so true that in the new model TB, the seat appears much more smaller at first sight, but i dont think there is much conpromise to the seat space for the pillion unlike what u see at first sight...

The royal enfield quality has surely gone down, i am not sure what is happening with the company. I have the older thunderbird twinspark which is the older model and it is working great for me. I didnt like the new thunderbird models, they made a few good changes but messed up a lot. They should be improving the good things and not creating more issues. Just a suggestion for your console spare part, get a new part welded from a welder in the same shape or get this one reinforced.

Hi, I am confused between dominor 400 and TB350, I had a classic 350 which I was not satisfied with, I am the who travels a lot, I live in bangalore and I do travel to kerala by car, at times i feel that I try in bike, so which one do you prefer? give me a genuine feedback> Thanks Deepu
@TravelVlogsbyRinkuMathew
@TravelVlogsbyRinkuMathew 7 жыл бұрын
+Deepu Sathyan Hi Deepu, now thats a tough call to make.. i recently did a test drive of the dominor and the bike is awesome.. but having said that quality wise i would say its two poles apart... Now coming to your case, if your major travel is between bangalore and kerala, you would be majorly crusing through the 4 lane highway... i have done the same route many times and to be frank i have at times felt the need for a little more torque and power doing the trips... so if your major travel is bangalore - kerala i would suggest the doninor... Now coming to the thunderbird part, i guess tripping on an RE is a completely different feeling.... and since you have said that you were not satisfied with your classic 350, i guess you dont enjoy that mode of tripping a lot.... so from your requirements and description i would suggest you to take the dominor....

Yeah I am going to check it Bro. I think it's also due to the wide handle which means the turning radius would be more. Anyway it's not a negative, it's bcos of those wide handles we get a relaxed ride. TB deserves a different riding style.

spokes always has a tubeless tyres. so in case of hard braking these spokes helps a lot as alloy tends to get broken in case of hard braking. Its like if spokes have tubeless tyres then the spokes might cut or tear the tyre away ad the get pass through it. however i am not to sure that they provide getter road gtip or not.

FIRSTLY. All RE comes with a spoke based wheel assembly becoz bikes are really heavy. the alloy wheels are not the option as the base cracks off due to heavy load. the rim absorbs the pressure. As no alloy wheel frame, causes tube tires. SECOND IF it is hard to poke into the tires as they are very thick. and a Mechanic should know how to assemble the rear disc. They are not problems.!! It is known as a detailed tackle down without compromising the Royal Feel RE is known for.

Hi Aditya, as i have mentioned in the video, u wont be able to get a brand new spare for that... try checking out with the RE service centres if they have a some replaced Metre console from which u can take that part...or else ur only hope woud be to head to a shop which sells old bike parts and look around for the part... People gave me a suggestion to weld and use the part... but that will not help as it would again break easily due to the intense vibrations... So hope u get a replacement.... ifbothing happens the final alternative would be to get the conplete metre changed.... do let me know how u have solved the problem once you are done.. happy riding mate :-)

Bro, If you are looking for a bike/car/anything that moves that have no issues at all:: you should deposit all your money in banks ( that also have issues) and live your life muted. If you wanna live, make some good stories. Get on the road and drive until the road ends (which will never happen).

Hi Agni , i was not making a point that any bike would be totally issueless.. i was just trying out to highlight the major issues with the bike.. And as far as riding is concerned , i am a solo rider and make good stories on the road too :-) please do watch my travelogues from my channel :-)

Do you these are the major defficiency with this bike... I can explain more... The head lamp provided are nasty and worse that u cant see even 5 meter ahead due to design default. Then these bikes are disk brake without ABS system which can make u easily skid on raods....please please be careful about this... I already met an accident... So dont take it lightly... This dumb bike is actually a threaten to safey ride guys... So be careful
