You should make a tutorial about the grid system of your game and also how to place objects. because there are a very few tutorials about it

Loving your work BWDEV???? Wow how do you find time to do this and also release a cyber security video game. Just done a -search and seen on spotify you've filled in your time making some music . how the ---- do you find to do all this I find it hard enough to make the bed!

Very nice content! Your voice is very enjoyable. I'd really like to see a bit of the code .. I have no clue of Unity, is there even a real "source code"? But I also write my Idea downs to paper before I code it :D

Sure, I'll be showing code in the next one! Yep, Unity is scripted in C# so is very versatile - I definitely recommend giving it a go!

Back in the day they couldnt build conver belts through the forest so logs were floated down river :)

Honestly, I really like the look of the attempt 3. It looks stylized enough but pretty atmospheric. Did you discard it because you didn't like the looks or did you assume that it would take too long to draw in this style?

bit of a specific q, how do the coordinates in ur isometric system work? I'm guessing ur using diamond shaped tile sprites, rather than an orthographic camera rotated by 45°. so are the x,y axes of the game objects on a diagonal to line up with the isometric grid, or are they placed as they would be on screen with x and y representing vertical and horizontal position?

Coordinates are isometric too, so the axes follow the angle of the tiles

I did it myself - quite simple though! Just changes an object’s render layer depending on its height on the screen 😊

Thanks! That’s an old version of the game but you just take the position of the mouse at mousedown and then use the current position of the mouse while it’s held down and compare to calculate the area in between 😊

Amazing video. I'm interested in how you created procedural generation is isometric tilemaps. I've tried myself and failed miserably every time.

I’m studying CS at University - self taught in Unity, but been making games with it for 5 or so years 😊 Doesn’t take long to learn the basics and make a simple game though! Good luck with game making 😁
