The proceq GP8000 is a stepped frequency continuous wave ground penetrating radar for concrete scanning and structural engineering applications. It has a broad bandwidth which allows the user to image small shallow objects and deeper ones. It also has a live wire detector to assist in identifying conduit.

For land clearing operations, a GPR device mounted in front of a tractor or bulldozer can alert the operator that a large rock is hidden under the ground surface. Ideally, that rock has to removed by skid steer that has a grappling pincer attachment before the bulldozer with the heavy duty disc harrow runs over it. The skid steer operator will stick metal poles into the ground according to the outline of the rock which is shown on the GPR screen which the bulldozer operator can see. Then the skid steer operator can stab his grappler pincer into the ground and pull out the rock. I doubt there is a device that has this kind of capabilities. But if there is, wouldn’t it be nice if AI put a red laser outline of the rock on the ground, so that the skid steer operator can lift out the rock quickly and efficiently.

Does it give information about the diameter of the rebar?

@@ortacalkan9069 It can but it's a process. We don't recommend it. Instead you could use a cover meter like a profoscope to estimate rebar aize

Hi Dan, thanks for the video, have you tried the equipment on concrete walls or slabs with the presence of metal pipes that carry hot water or low/medium voltage electricity? Regarding the latter, would this interfere with the detection of metallic elements? Thank you!

Hey, Thanks for the question. It really doesn't interfere. Actually, the system has a passive live wire detector which can help. It can be programmed to either 50 or 60 Hz depending where you are in the world.

One hell of a scanner, and it does a lot but having something else to drag across a floor on my knees and marking stuff with the screen on the unit, I dont ever have anybody with me to hold a screen...my ps1000 is just a lil easier....day in day out...if i need more penetration I just pull the overweight monster gssi cart with the 400mhz antennae....

You can purchase a strap for the iPad that can allow the iPad to hang around your neck so you can view in front of you. The system also comes with a rod that can connect to the scanner so you can push it and avoid your knees.

Thanks for the question. I can work on shotcreet, but the rugged surface makes it a little more difficult to collect data. Also, it has to cure before adequate investigation conditions

It is possible to estimate diameter. There have been 4 or 5 methods proposed. I stress that these are estimates and design work should always be done after verification. This specific unit does not allow for the cross polarization method.
