Dude. Thank you so much for this. As a total newbie whose watched at least a dozen other how to videos and just wants to fix the damn hole in his wall, this was the most concise, straightforward description of what I need to do. Now I just got to figure out whether to get the blue lid or the green lid 😂.

You got this! Just follow the steps and you'll be good to go.

Green for 1st coat. You can use it for all coats. Blue for 2nd and 3rd if you want. It’s lighter and has less glue. Don’t use blue for first coat. Since it has less glue your tape may not adhere as well.

easy way for me, is to get a bit of drywall bigger than the hole and trace a pencil mark around it ! no need to be square, I have lots of scraps in my truck from doing it every day
@drywallrepair3 ай бұрын
Yes it is easy way

I have a hole to fix that is almost exactly like that however the ceiling has knockdown texture along with glossy oil based antique white paint. Is it even possible to make the repair look flawless or is that not realistic? Also the texture you used here you call skip trowel but it looks a lot like knockdown are they the same?
@drywallrepair8 ай бұрын
Skip trowel done by hand and knock down done with sprayer Many other videos on channel show patching and texture types please view many more and comment
@alannorris-q5b3 ай бұрын
you need a hopper and compressor, harbor freight has them around $40 gun/hopper also a clear knock down knife is good , use the biggest tip on lowest pressure to get it bigger

Coat out needs 2-3 coats before texture

Hey man, really enjoy your videos. I do a lot of the same things you do. Just curious, what kind of hotmud do you use? Do you use USG or Wespac?
@drywallrepair9 ай бұрын
Wespack only only use usg if can't get wespack I don't use usg products
