Exactly. You can't have the mindset of "I just wanna try it". You have to have your mind %100 made up that you want to be a SEAL so bad that you eat sleep, dream BUDS and SEAL training. You have to have your mind made up that you will become a SEAL no matter what and you'll die before you'll quit. Otherwise, it's just too difficult and too mentally challenging to make it if you're thinking "eh, I'll try it out and see how I like it." -You won't make it a week with that mentality. It is just SO mentally challenging. It's designed that way on purpose, to force people to quit, so that only the few, special people make it.

The people who want to “try” and be SEALs never seem to make it through. There are few that succeed but the people who do make it through have the mindset that they’re going to be a SEAL no matter what and nothing is going to get in there way. Many of these guys nowadays have dreamt and trained to be a SEAL at a very young age. Marcus Luttrell said he started training when he was 14 with his twin brother.

+Antawn Weg I got my diver contract this month. If you're a very good/great athlete getting a contract shouldn't be too hard,AiRR is the easiest Spec Ops job to get contracted for.FYI they probably won't give you a contract until you pass the PST 2 or 3 times consecutively. I got my contract after my 2nd consecutive completion of the PST(i never failed the PST). In Water Procedures(IWP) is where most Divers,EOD candidates fail. IWP consist of tying knots underwater, treading water with weights, walking underwater end to end with a weight,ETC. SEALS/SWCC go to San Diego for BUDS Prep. EOD and Divers stay in Great Lakes for Dive Prep and then on to Panama for Dive School. Rescue Swimmers go to Pensacola for Air Candidate School and then stay for Rescue Swimmer School.I would recommend training with a weighted vest for your pull-ups, push-ups, sit-ups. Resistance is good because at Dive Prep they'll throw any and all kinds of resistance your way.

But before your ship date you will take monthly PSTs, if you get selected then you will sign a new contract for SEAL/EOD/SWCC, which ever special warfare program you were aiming for. Contracts are given based on seats. If 50 contracts are open that month. Then they tale the kids woth the top 50 PST scores.

Yes but that has changed since Trump took office. He signed an executive order ending the program that accepted green card holders into the military. He even gave the order to deport service members who were illegal aliens/dreamers, which sucks because if they’re serving, they’re obviously trying to make a contribution to America that most American citizens wouldn’t make But go talk to a recruiter anyway. Who knows? Maybe you’ll get a waiver. If you’re fluent in a language like Arabic, they might waive the red tape and get you in But to be a Navy Seal, you MUST be a US Citizen. Ekrah Get comfortable in water. Thread water for atleast an hour. Learn all strokes such as combat side stroke, breast, side stroke. Again, get comfortable in the water. There's a saying out there that water is the greatest equalizer no matter how strong you are. Spec Ops are mostly looking for individuals with the drive and strong mentality since they can make you strong, but the pay can't train you to have a strong mental fortitude. Ruck runs, build up stamina for running, and weight lift, but not too much too the point you need supplements everyday to maintain physique/strength

Greedo Yes, they do. They may not be on them a lot, but they most certainly do get put on ships. I’ve read several books where SEALs were on ships, and boarding other ships. This isn’t a great analogy, but SEALs are like extremely advanced Marines. One of their main tasks is underwater demolitions, so they are trained to go from their ship to another ship to do damage on another ship. They are not going to be a part of the ship’s compliment, but they are definitely on them, and they are put to work when they are needed

Erick Montejano pretty sure the age limit is 28 before you start Basic. You can apply for an age waiver, but they rarely give age waivers and you’ll need to have monster PST scores and ASVAB score to get that waiver IF they even decide to give it

Buddy, there have been a good number of Asian Navy SEALs for the past several decades. At any give time, there are a good handful of Asian-American SEALs. Your race or how many people of a race there are in the SEALs or whatever unit has Nothing to do with it, since one man is just as capable as any other. Only if you do poorly, get shit for it and blame it on your race, does it "matter".
