Why is Cardinal Cupich wearing the pallium when he is not the celebrant? I thought the archbishop only wore it when he is the celebrant. Maybe another case of him doing what he wants, however he wants?

The pallium can be worn by the archbishop within his province when attending or presiding over Mass. Joliet diocese is in the province of IL which is under the archbishop of Chicago’s jurisdiction. Not that you or I need to know this….but it’s true.
