Fun fact: at higher hazard levels, it might be worth it to just cripple all 3 flyfish so you only need to deal with 1.5 of the fuckers rather than having a fresh new one appear with every kill you make. Kill stingers if you can though, they'll always be inking your feet if not outright killing you

I think it can vary if only because 3 half-Flyfish firing staggered can sometimes be harder to dodge around than a "full" barrage happening in a single window, if you have to deal with heavily inked space like under a Fish stick or next to a Steelhead/Eel. There's just no fair way to handle these things.

As mentioned, there is a hard cap for bosses (Three of each) Its actually a strat in the higher levels ot just leave three flyfish with one bucket each (Either the red or blue one, whichever one shoots randomly) so you can have other bosses spawn and only have to deal with 3 buckets worth of missiles.

Here's a few "fun" facts about the fly fish 1: A single fly fish firing once can one shot your entire team more than two times 2: fly fish are the only common boss salmon that requires more than 1 full ink tank to kill 3: fly fish are 1 of 2 salmonids that can't be killed with your main weapon(except Explosher). The other one is the mud mouth 4: they are 1 of 5 salmanids that can't be hurt at all times. The others are Steelhead, Big Shot(briefly), Drizzler, and Maws 5: while the fly fish isn't crippled it will target the closest player + a random other player. If the fly fish is crippled it only targets the closest player 6:I think they should be nerfed 7: they're my least favorite Salmonid to see 8: Nintendo doesn't think that they're a problem because there has been many updates released and fly fish haven't been touched 9: fly fish are the embodiment of evil

So A thought just occurred to me In salmon run, there's a limit of 3 flyfish on the field at once, right? No one's ever seen 4 of them. But according to the salmon run database, 4 is the actual limit in the game's code. Is there a chance that there actually can be 4 flyfish spawned at once, and the fourth one is just waiting to come out? Is that why so many times, a third flyfish respawns the exact moment you kill the last one, it was literally waiting for a slot to open up?

It doesn’t make sense that the stingers still fire stingrays at you; they should fire wail beams instead, because then it won’t paint your feet while it’s damaging you, not to mention the lack of Ink Resistance. And the target area for the stinger should be a circle, with target player depending on the condition, being the closest to the edge of anyone in the circle, or the closest in general if everyone is outside the circle, rather than whoever is furthest from it throughout the whole map. Also, I’d like the Flyfish to fire chumps instead of missiles, or maybe give us more ways to take them out other than tossing two ink-hungry bombs, hoping they’ll stay in the baskets, all that, only to “reward” you with spawning more flyfish.

Stingers and big shots are ok because you can just deal with them but flyfish are extremely bad because you only have a small window to kill them and theres a lot of times when the bomb just wont stay in, other salmonids jump to defend the flyfish, etc. and now you gotta waste 10 seconds waiting for the flyfish to open again. Its just not fun. Edit: gotta add, they were actually fine in splatoon 2…….when missiles didnt have a ridiculous splash radius. But thats not the case in 3, so yeah.

I think the Big Shots don't spawn nearly as much as the other globals, like Fly Fish, Stingers, and Drizzlers. It's ridiculous how many spawn and you can see in this video its like 5 per wave minimum at higher levels. I already really enjoy Salmon Run a lot, but I think better and more frequent night-wave events would make Salmon Run more interesting, as it's really stale and once you get to Eggsectuive it feels like you're just practicing dealing with globals so that when Big Run or Eggstra Work happens you can get a higher score, but the main mode shouldn't feel like that. More and better night-modes would make this mode feel more diverse
