I've a funny story about the final battle: I never played Splatoon 2 but got the third game partially because of this channel, but in my first attempt at the final boss, I was surrounded by enemies and tried to save myself by using Splashdown, but one of the enemies killed me mid-jump. Not only did I die to a Splashdown Cancel in Splatoon 3, it also caused the end of the world.

I love that they learned from octo expansion. Like most people guessed the blender would be... a blender. So for this story mode they made it look so weird that it was hard to guess what the final 'thing' would be. I personally thought it would've been a helicopter of some sort.

The sunken scrolls actually sort of explain how they ‘revived’ cuttlefish. I can’t remember exactly what it said, but one of the pages talks about mummification or revival of squids or something among those lines…

i love the canon implication of agent 3.2 working salmon run shifts after the story mode. they know exactly what the golden eggs are for, and collect them for mr grizz anyway. guess the benefits are too good lol (yes i know it's implied lil judd took over grizzco, but agent 3.2 wouldn't know that)

I feel like it wouldn't be unreasonable for them to notice the new headset, plus there was already a Lil Judd themed pen holder on the table at Grizzco, and that one Sunken Scroll makes him a little suspicious in general. Maybe they keep working salmon run shifts just to try and keep tabs on him or something (even though it's still pretty questionable, lol.)

This final boss is hype as heck. We got hugefry fighting a friggin bear all while we pilot DJ octavio’s mech, squid sisters and deep cut backing us up. And this version of Calamari Inkantation made me shed a tear. It feels like the grand finale and I’m left wondering where could Splatoon go when it comes to story

Literally had no clue how to escape the flooders either. I just did the lil trick I learned in Splat2 and cheesed the edge of the flooder so I could escape. Had no clue you could turn them off.

The whole final sequence was great. That one jump troubled me more than it did you, but I picked up on the proper usage of Octavio's ink vac (aka, only using it when near the proper fuzzball) faster and didn't run out of time. Also, Smallfry truly is the best hero and the hero of this story. Hopefully you end doing the postgame and the other stages you didn't do so I can see just how much better you are at it than I am (because postgame is hard. very hard).

10:14 imagine being a dude who was conscious in a cryo pot for 12 000 years only to come back on the same planet and see marine life evolved. And your whole world destroyed only to be left alone. This part really hit deep for me. Kinda felt for mr Grizz afterall he just wanted to have everything be back to normal. He wasn't like tar tar cuz tar tar literally was there for the entire time and just despited the evolution of squids and octos and said they were underdeveloped creatures. But mr grizz was different because he had a trauma going back to the same earth. Maybe we could have actually "saved" Mr grizz, because at the end he realized that the earth did indeed change. If only they show him some love at the end maybe the guy would have learned his lesson.

If I wanted an original story mode that doesn't just completely rehashes the first one, this is definitely the best out of the base Splatoon games imo, minus going for 100% completion and having fewer bosses (that at least have much more originality). My first experience with this boss fight was REALLY intense, I cut it CLOSE because the bomb traps are REALLY annoyingly positioned at times. I used splash down on that last wave of enemies, got into that last phase with like... 15 seconds on the clock? Something insanely low, I just remember the last few seconds ticking down and wondering if I was doing something wrong. Last second, the fight ends and I won. LOVED it.

I played every level before the finale and didn’t know smallfry could deactivate flooders. What I did was use smallfry as a distraction and had the flooded move over me breaking my self repairing armour. Did a similar thing on the second one.

okay, I DID know you could stop the Flooders with Smallfry because of one earlier stage, but I still got stuck on the second one with the ink roller somehow and just ended up damage boosting through like that too. Still not sure what I was doing wrong there, but I got through it, lol. Watching this reminded me how much fun I've had with story mode, though!!! I can go back and replay levels with other weapons and I still have to get through After Alterna, but I honestly already wish there was more actual story to play through. Maybe I'll even go dig Splatoon 2 back up just for that.
