Story mode: tutorial, easier than octo expansion, as it's for new players Dlc probably: way more difficult, clearly intended for people who want a challenge. Little buddy is also apparently trying to return to his kind.

After alterna was fun. The platforming was easy until the 3 line jump. Besides that the only bad part was the octoling part

The 3 line/rails jump's secret is that a short hop is just enough height and distance to get you through all 3 with just holding forward and without overshooting. Just the smallest tap.

Honestly the Octoling part is literally the only reason I didn't beat it.

Ink rail section was awful because you had to sit through the easier section which lasted like a minute or so every single attempt. The octoling part was also kinda hard but at least they had some predictable spawn locations you could kill them at

The hardest stages for me were the first and third ones; they both took me over 10 attempts each to beat. I beat the second and fourth stages on my second try somehow lol

imo its not insanely difficult, its just punishing because the checkpoints are so far apart (and even then you get one halfway through the third section)

I liked both of the curling bomb levels, those are good puzzles. I hope in the DLC they step up the creativeness and the challenge on the levels. Splatoon 3 was really fun and had a lot of creativity, but I think it was designed to be easy for everyone to play and have fun. Now I hope to see what a challenging version would be.

7:50 That doesn't surprise me as much as I thought it would. The base splatana definitely feels like a light version of another weapon because of its pepega damage and range, kind of like a carbon and reeflux. And splatana stamper doesn't really feel like a heavy version of another weapon because it doesn't have backwards-ass drawbacks like ridiculously slow animations, like the dynamo and tentabrella

Also the reason why the more basic a weapon is, the stronger it is. The more gimmicks they add to a weapon, the lower its base stats are, even if the gimmick is basically worthless like the gootuber's, and when making light and heavy versions of weapons, the drawbacks are usually so severe that it makes the weapon just bleh to play That's why the best class is the one where you hold a button to shoot and that's it welcome to my ted talk

For me, the only painful part was the first bit since it was so long; the other sections weren't as bad imo, so you should be fine :)

Don´t be scared with the right plan After Alterna is easy. For me it was a bit to easy because of some unneeded checkpoints but for normal players who know a bit what they do it´s definitly doable. Anyways if u give it a try good luck and enjoy :]

It’s not that brutal the first phase is just tedious. Second phase is easy you just gotta be aware of balloons and when to reload.

Tbh, the only really difficult part of the level is the last one with the octolings, it only took me about 1-2 hours to beat the level.

8:00 while it’s hinted it’s not confirmed. Stamper is called Saber_Normal in the code and wiper is called Saber_Light but the same also goes for the brushes (octo is normal while ink is light) Also another little thing, mist is called Devil_Ball or something like that

I have to disagree on the OE hub world. I think it fits the mood of OE. I don't think Alterna-style hub world would have been better for OE. Also, I feel like the pre-test chambers in Alterna matching what we see in OE is a bit lazy as far as game design, but I guess it makes sense since Tartar would be using human tech for his tests.

for anybody wondering: There is actually an ADDITIONAL secret level. You only unlock it once you’ve beaten every level with every weapon and have explored all of the sectors completely. The level is called Ligma and you’ll be able to play as a ninja, however you will only have a limited amount of time, because you are dying of a disease called Squidma.

My theory regarding the Splatanas is that Stamper was supposed to get Stamp and Wiper was supposed to get Zipcaster, but they changed them for balance reasons without changing their names

I 100 percented the game by accident, I was just collecting everything first try by exploring every level as I usually do, then procceded to beat After Alterna without knowing it was supposed to be hard, I died a just few times in the rail section and was like: Wait, that was supposed to be hard? this just reminds me how I accidently deleted my Mario 3D World save before beating the champion's road
