I love your videos! I had a Screaming Demon sent to me in the States after seeing your experience with it. The guys there were great to work with, and now I have the pipe installed with the "open race" baffle. I have had several people stop me and say things like, "I've never heard a DR650 make a sound like that before." The sound is delicious! Thanks for your great tips!

I am 6 ft 7 tall and have put lowered pegs on many bikes down the years but on my 20 Africa Twin my off road bike and my new 21 Tiger GT Pro, two bikes with lowered chasis pivot points I find lowered pegs uncomfortable. But this is the first time they have not really suited. When we used to race Motocross lowered pegs were an instant must do but Petes right they are in general game changers.

I live in the states and own a 99 DR350 which I have installed JNS endineering lowering mounts and IMS pegs. This in addition to 1" bar risers and rental CR high bend bars made a massive difference in the feel and comfort while riding the baby bush pig.

Been watching your channel since I bought my nearly stock DR, nearly 7 years ago and mine now looks a lot like yours as far as the type of mods I've done. I plan on getting a more street oriented second bike in the near future, but I truly don't think I'll ever get rid of my ol' trusty DR.

Thanks for the video. I am 5'9" with a 33 inseam so the DR 650 is not good for me standing up for any amount of time, will be trying the lower pegs, and them go with higher bars, if needed.
@paulbourgoin24363 жыл бұрын
Great vid guys! I did the lowering last year and YES it makes a huge difference. For the shift lever, you almost need to keep it stock because one notch adjustment just makes it too low. And the bar risers is also a must to get the perfect ergo. Go the 2inch risers.

+1 on the pivot pegs If procycle made them in a lowered pivot peg for ktm's i'd buy 9 sets replace all my pivot pegs only minus with it is making the shift lever & brake leaver more susceptible to getting snagged up as well getting toes hooked up ripping foot under the footpeg & braking your ankle

Great job guys! Check out Powermadd bar risers. I have the 2-1/2 inch but they also pivot so you have a lot more adjustment. Mine fit on my 2020 with the stock cables no modifications required. Good luck & *T4S* 👍🍻

Good stuff! Take a look at the renthal RC high bends. Happy with mine. They seem to be about 35 mm higher as you want. Also not using risers keeps the bars foward more as the risers push the bars back by following the forks direction if that makes any sense. Chers

Great video guys 👍 Was there no way you could keep the rubber washers? I’d be interested to hear Pete whether there’s a noticeable change in vibration as I was considering these foot pegs. Cheers fellas 💪🇦🇺

Hi Jason, will let you know. I don't believe it will a problem.
@davewalton23583 жыл бұрын
I added washers on the bolts on my stock DR peg mounts to take the flex out of the rubber mounts and didn't notice any difference with vibration but the pegs feel much more solid and connected now. Also extended the stock pegs with some steel strap welded on to make the pegs longer and wider. Much nicer to stand on now!

It's all straight forward until you start stacking mods on top of mods. On my DR, I couldn't fit riding lights using any available mounting brackets after fitting a 25lt tank and DR-Z front guard. I soon had to revert back from the B&B tail tidy to the stock plastic tail in order to fit panniers that I picked up on marketplace. Also I laughed when I noticed this vid went up 2 months ago, thats about the time when everyone is Aus was sold out and Procycle US was telling me 2 months wait on the pegs. Please to say they're on their way now though. Enjoy you vids new subscriber here. 👍

That was a great idea using the spirit level to remember the position of the gear lever. Also it would have been pushed in after a few stacks, so should take it off and give it a few taps back out. Fitting the washer back on, that pin should have been pushed flat (similar to when you put the bold it), that way the washer would have been easy to get into position, no hammering required. (But yes its easy to sit back on the chair to critique others working, hahahaha) I thought the price was cheap compared to some parts us Harley people are doing to mod our bikes.. haha Keep up the videos so we can criticise everything you do.. :) Hows those welds going on the trailer.?
@BikerBits3 жыл бұрын
Yeah still going great but it hasn't had much use lately so I can't honestly say they are fine with the abuse the trailer will normally goes through. 😃

instead cutting up brake rod (butchering up the OEM) go bunning buy some all thread rod make one just cut to length you need grind one end same as OEM shaft , paint , jobs done as for washer grind flat spot on the side it slip on easy still do it's job

This short-arse begs to disagree! After comparing ergonomics with other trail-bikes, my opinion is that bum-on-seat road- cruising comfort would be improved by raising the pegs, not lowering them. As for off-road, take notice of the footpeg/ seating position on Toby Price's setups. And if you want rigidity in the pegs, you'd be better off spending your money on an SW Motech centre-stand.
