G'day guys, after rebuilding the carby for the Honda CT110 and thinking I had done a great job because it fired up straight away! There was an issue with it not holding its idle. Hal came over and found the issue and it's now like a new bike! Hope you enjoy :-) Cheers... Mark

One of the reasons I have been a fan of your channel since before you got Max, is because you have a go at most things yourself. Bringing in a guest, every now and then,who has extra knowledge and experience has added to your channel. Great stuff 👍

Brilliant! So glad it's sorted, and s man who knows his carbs. Here in blighty we are just going over to E10 fuel so 10% filler idle jet increase one size and vacuum tune should correct the lean condition. If still lean at the top end raise the jet needle one position. Some carbs do not have adjustable jet needles so 0.5mm shim washers are the solution. Hope this helps those with carby bikes.

Thanks Bob, it was a enjoyable afternoon and your 100% right it’s always the smallest thing. Rebuilding carbs you need to be systemic and have all the checks and balances. The single carbie is easy compared to my six cylinder CBX1000 carbies that took me three days to rebuild and balance. 👍🏍 Hwy Hal

Mark and Hal thanks for the great explanation about the carb. BUT ! You should have shown us the ¨fine¨tuning with some explanation, cause I know it could give trouble with running idle and full throttle or vice versa. Anyway, great vid and keep on educating (us) 👍

Hi, Cor, Info on the fine tuning Screw out the Mixture screw 1 & 1/4 to 1 1/2 turns out, them drop the idle screw down just before the engine stalls around 800 to 900 RPM then adjust the mixture screw again in or out and listen to the exhaust note and the idle speed, if the idle speed drops screw the mixture screw the other way until the idle speed just starts lifts up again, this is your sweet spot and finally adjust the idle screw up to the idle speed of 1,100 RPM's. Hope this helps Give it a go its always a great way to learn. HWY Hal

Hi Mark, why is a diode necessary for the LEDs. Is this always the case, newer bikes, older? Is it a matter of experimentation. I'm wanting to put extra indicators with running lights. Cheers Trevor.

@BikerBits
@BikerBits 3 жыл бұрын
To be honest I don't know what Hal fine tuned it to, but it would be very close to: Idle Screw 1 and a half. Air Screw 1 and a Bit. Might do another video on the tuning of the carby! 👍
