@@realtimejaylin9613 Not sure if this was meant to be directed towards me but I agree completely, we have tools now that make it easier to do what we want but that doesn’t replace how it was done before, we can use parts of each to our advantage and do stuff the old way because the song calls for it, not because we have to. I will say learning an instrument absolutely will improve your musicianship, although that’s more perspective than skill imo

My son has been making beats for about 6 years now. He’s 15 and has Autism, but his sense of music is so amazing. These kids are phenomenal with what they can do. I’m a classical musician and I’m not 100% sure that even has anything to do with his ability.

Music abilities runs in families. I have been a composer and arranger for over 30 years, play 12 instruments, and one of my children plays several instruments. My father was a concert clarinetist (also playing several woodwinds, piano, and guitar), my mother is a pianist, and my grandfather was a Bluegrass banjo player.

I mean, your parents probably didnt have an extra $20,000 to spend to have a room setup for producing plus all the hardware and software required to produce. It's actually expensive. At least $550 for the base DAW, then about at least 4 other plugins which is about $100 total, A decent computer just for producing which can run about $1200 if done right(building it yourself) Then the monitor speakers which would cost about $400. Then a whole ass room just for producing(which is the rest of the money to be honest) plus the sound design of that room (which itself isn't that expensive). This is being generous, With the barebones equipment and software while, ignoring the huge expensive Amp and guitar in the Kid's background and ignoring the three keyboards that Ocean has. it's obvious that his parents are funding that (father probably works in the industry). So it's much less, "being lucky to be young" and more like "being lucky to have parents with money"

That 808 work was OOoooo. So much rock to that beat. That thing was concrete. 9:17 Not sure if it was an edit to the vid at this point but I am pretty sure I heard the timing off in the 4th bar of pattern 2. The beat dropped then 3 bars later it sounded like it just skipped to the beginning suddenly. Like bar 4 started too early. It still sounded hard though. His skills at 10 are up there. I started FL at 14 with FL 3. I couldn't even sample then. I was using "Edit Events" instead of "Automation". i had no idea what I was doing. I wonder if there is a complete version of this beat. @@808winds Lot of people make excuses like "I didn't had the conditions" and shit but lots of rich kids have all the conditions and do sweet nothing. So the message here is, no matter where you are right now, you can do this with an iPhone. My dad owned 5 studios in his life and he can tell straight up there's more fire in Logic Pro 10.5 than in the studio he had in the 80's with literally all the legendary synths and drum machines you can think off and some you can't. There are zero excuses. That shit is accessible. Besides, that kid could very well be saving summer job money. He got a crap ass camera, some foam and a PC, he ain't no rich kid, neither was I when my dad had me (even tho he was rich af before, and yes, I came and I saw how people reacted to him, so I know it's not a bunch of lies). Cheers :)

@@jas_bataille bro that's not the point, I'm really proud of my work, I only have one computer, I do exclusive beats for artists for free, I do mixes and master for free too because I like to help artists that can't afford licenses of beats and stuff like that, and I'm really happy with what I'm doing. I wasn't making excuses, the only thing I said was, I wish I had the conditions that this kid have at my 11 years old, and I still wish, I still wish to have the same conditions this 11 years old have at this moment, and we both now that, this kid studio is not from saving money, he have "rich" parents, or have some parent that work with music, simple like that, sorry if I've made some mistake, I'm not fluent at english

The software makes it so easy. In decades past such things were done with live musicians, tape loops, and other tricks. Producers and musicians struggled for hours, days, and weeks and now it’s a click of the button. It’s still talent to hear it in your mind and know what you want to do but it’s so easy with such software.

@@stoner1744 It depends what beats your hearing and from who, obviously most people try to sound like everyone else, but there defo are good beats that stand out too but only the minority produce them. Anyway, to me this beat gives me vibes of beats that i heard some years ago, the pattern of the drums is the same, which is a cool flashback, although you gotta remember that this kid's beats will sound totally different in a years time, in 5 years time etc. People's sound changes a bit every few months, and at least every year or two, as everyone needs to change to evolve. Plus, you would just get bored of the same sound and not progress. If someone gets stuck up in the old ways or try sounding like everyone else without going onto the next stage of developing their own sounds, then they will always remain with the mediocre majority. I think this kid is amazing for an 11 year old but he's still yet to develop his own sound, so we will only know in time what his sound will be because it takes several years to find your sound and put it out

He has something that's a signature, which can get old but he'll figure that out. The biggest thing is his knowledge that even though he had something he really would like to throw in, there wasn't room for it. Restraint is one of the hardest things to learn. It went hard, but had room to breath.
