Love Billy Idol too. As a Deaf person with my deafness gaining, I wanted to go to at least one rock n roll concert with a male bass singer, so I picked him. He wasn't used to seeing an ASL interpreter on stage and avoided the right side of the stage for a while. After he warmed up to the idea, he came over to other side, squatted and thrusted his hands out. The crowd was stunned but no one took his offer. Nervously, I'm in the front row- I thrusted my hands out, he turned his heels to face me and grabbed my hands. Thinking he was only going to hold them for a few seconds, I waited for him to let go. He didn't...for a loooong time. I was so embarrassed as the audience chanted "Wooo, wooo wooo!" Billy entire face lit up and he kept staring straight into my eyes and said 'Yeah, baby!!!'. After a few more seconds, I tried to let go, he just gripped harder. I'm not a typical gushing fan - his eyes bored into mine - I thought he's look around at the audience, but nope... kept staring into my eyes, smiling. Finally after about a minute later, I buckled and threw him a kiss -- he proudly cackled and shot up and returned singing. The ASL interpreter and I just stared at each other in awe. I drove home on cloud 9 all the way.
