@@Kerimo02 no but he could just don't talk about it. he just could say something like that was more our stuff but he was lame. Nah he said: i started to like Pac since he started to diss us, bc this shit was more our style. Sure most hood ppl back then would say, Tupac wasnt their style or they didnt liked him at all. Pac songs had stuff in it, were a typical hood (gang member) citizen couldnt relate too, especially men. The hood was full of hate, violence and disrespect. Many ppl didnt really want to face the realness behind Pac songs, nobody wants to think about things which can start a change in a better way. It's easier to stay on hate than starting to look behind the curtain and start something better. Thats what Pac did. He tried to change something but especially the East Coast didnt care. They only cared about their music and their problems.
@Kerimo024 жыл бұрын
@@CellerKind I mostly agree with U. What I tried to say is just rappers got big egos so its not easy to admit that Makaveli catched the whole focus to him and all that East Cast Rappers were lamed and couldnt spit shit until his death. Im not from the States and I can definitely tell you that there is no other MC enjoying such a legacy a Pac do. There is not really one who have ever heard about Mobb Depp, Junior Mafia and so on. Pac is still livin in Europa and the Middle East.
@CellerKind4 жыл бұрын
@@Kerimo02 yeah, that's what i meant... Pac was confrontating people on another level which they couldnt really deal with. The East Coast has no doubt really great emcees, i don't even need to name them. But even there nobody was a story teller with all the skills like Pac was. His stories went far behind the mind of most of the emcees, especially when you compare him with the rappers today. And i need to sadly agree with you, i think Pac is way more idolized and respected here in the EU than in the USA. He definitely deserves way more than this...

I agree, a Pac Mobb deep collab would've been epic but we have to be real about it, Mobb Deep was never lyrical and neither was Pac. Dope rappers? Heck yeah! Pac is the greatest "Rapper" of all-time in my opinion but saying they were lyrical is a misrepresentation of their craft. That would be like saying Peyton Manning was athletic or Shaq was a good shooter because he scored a lot of points. No! Shaq was a great scorer not shooter and Peyton Manning was a great passer, not athletic. It's the same thing, Pac and Mobb Deep were great rappers, not lyrical. Lyrical is Eminem, Canibus, KRS One, Kool G Rap, and emcees of that caliber.

A lot of people had love for NY and listened to NY music, grew up on it, but NY would stay criticizing and dissing all that weren't from the East or followed their format. Speaking of 'their' format, boy how times have changed lol. I'd never thought I'd see the day where the East is now emulating music from those places they used to put beneath them.

Apocalypse now really wasn't discovered until about a year & a half after release because he spit positive political messages in his lyrics when the youth was feeling gangstaism. So I never really understood his beef with Minnesota deep except by association with Biggie. I think the biggest message we learn is what has been taught for ages which is the pen is mightier than the sword.. God how I wish these 2 legends had the humbleness to come together & get an understanding instead of allowing a racist white media destroy them due to jealous motives of what they could not understand. Words are power. Which should make rappers more conscious of the product they produce.

Because of groupies & superfans like yourself who were taken in by Tupac's notable acting skills, nobody wants to deal with whiners who see him as a divine martyr which was also done for profit. I suggest you view the interview with Albert Hughes on Sway in the Morning here on YT for more detailed perspective. Prodigy is no saint and has detailed that in his bio. He though is not nearly as perverse in his fact-twisting as Pac was in his clear lack of loyalty and storytelling (east to west, thug, outlaw, death row to leaving, actor, etc.). P said that "thug life you still livin' it?" as a challenge because he saw Pac was a person of loose loyalty and deception. I wish you no ill and won't call you any names because of your fanaticism, it's all good. Tupac though overrated as true emcee, was massively intelligent and a great thespian which was proven onscreen and in his rap & public career. As one close to the Shakur family I'm glad the focus post-mortem is on his strengths & assets. Shouts to Afeni Shakur, Talibah, Watani, New African Panthers, whole fam. But to fully appreciate anyone whether Jimi Hendrix, B.I.G., Dr. MLK, Cobain, Malcolm X, etc you must look at & embrace ALL of them and learn from their mistakes and successes. And wish you all the best Will and further elevation as Tupac seemed to be headed towards at the end of his life, peace.

PersonalityDeficit87 That my friend, was truly one of his greatest moments. I was here in ATL when that happened, props. 'The realest one' overall? Hmmm, may differ with you there. Respect PD87.

Pirate7X It's Mr., My parents named me after president Kennedy brotha. And I completely understand that your just sharing your experience, all I'm trying to get across is that you claimed to have met the man and know the Shakur family well but seem to lack understanding of his personality and him entirely? Practically saying that his legacy was gained by "groupies and superfans", acting and being an image that just wanted to sell records shows you probably are lying about knowing the Shakur family entirely. You may have met him once then went along with what Prodigy and mainstream media had fed about 2Pac, because I know plenty of breathing proof that would argue with your false accusations. And if you could provide we with some evidence on Mr. Shakur being "perverse in fact twisting" that'd be greatly appreciated! And once again, "thug life, WE still living it" is what was said. Havoc claims the term came from his cousin Ferg who was in the studio and said it randomly just for the chorus. Saying 2Pac is overrated is complete non sense. His intentions, absolute genius lyricism and caring heart can relate to all his fans and that's the reason he has so much all over the world! If you only saw that in his acting and public rap career than you once again failed seeing his message and poetic story telling. And of course! Assatta, Mutulu, them all! Embrace and mourn the real OG's to the fullest.
@kendogruru11 жыл бұрын
Pirate7X Beside your opinion on Pac, much respect for recognizing and mourning the elite that were holding it down around our generation. Kids now a days fail to see the core to music and am proud to see brotha's from out time spreading a bit of truth!

Kennedy Williamson Pardon me Mr. Williamson, I know of many females (the ex MTV host?) named Kennedy. I could go all day on how he switched allegiances, sold out his 'homies', broke 'g' code depending on who he thought could push him forward but we'll leave that alone. As I said I respect Tupac for his clear intellect but his path, message & actions deserve to be examined and not just praised. Hero worship of anyone is dangerous. I have no recorded proof of meeting Tupac Amaru Shakur. I could be formulating this attention of $ who have cashed in on his image & fame. I can only say that I have no lapses in memory and there were a few others there who could confirm my story (not to mention I saw him some time later) but that's beside the point. Shouts to Raheem KMT who notified me that "the cat Tupac is on a record!" when DU's "Same Song" video came out. Truthfully there are stories told by many I trust wholeheartedly that I refuse to share about Tupac's actions because there is no positivity or lesson in sharing this info. I am no liar or hater but that's for you to decide. I actually tell this story only to reveal a side of an impressive artist and young brother who I saw before fame apparently overtook his stronger message. I gain nothing from lying but if his fans learn how deep a person he was and how not to end up the way he did, then the story is worth telling. All the best to you Mr. Williamson. And all the best to the Shakur family and to the estate and non-profit helping youth in Tupac's name. I will never lie or apologize for sharing the truth if someone can gain something from it. Peace.

I totally agree with that part cause we weren't really into Tupac either until Hit em up that's when i first really listened I knew Tupac as an actor from 'Juice" He was amazing in that movie!!
@ΗρακλήςΠεράκης5 жыл бұрын
So you knew 2Pac as an actor only? The man had a No.1 album (Me Against the World) and was all over the news BEFORE Hit Em Up. He already had released 4 albums (2Pacalypse Now, Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z., Thug Life, Me Against the World) He had 3 movies (Juice, Poetic Justice, Above the Rim) Had politicians talking shit about his music Been shot 5 times Been framed for rape And also California Love was out and you tell me that you knew him only from Juice? The man was everywhere
@chandler53124 жыл бұрын
Ηρακλής Περάκης Honestly, people love to lie and act like Pac wasent popping before he joined Death Row. That man was the star and in the spotlight throughout his whole rap career from 1991-96. Whether it be for his number 1 albums, run ins with the laws, fake rap charge, shot 5 times, movies, shooting 2 cops, dissing rappers. He was the main man. All these people saying they didn’t know who Pac was back then until his major records are just in denial and lack knowledge.

P spoke on Pac sometime before he passed and said a homie he has was a mutual friend of Pac and the guy was supposed to squash whatever they had going on, because the dude felt like they would have been instantly cool with each other having similar mindsets. He talked about if they would have worked together eventually that ish would have been epic. Remember Prodigy got in his revolutionary bag before he passed. He gave respect to Dr. Mutulu Shakur and other OG elders connected to Pac.
