I feel like I would like this version way more if I didn't know the original. The original instrumental obviously fits better, especially to the dance (some moves that are timed on the beat look weird now) but I do like the rock version too, especially since I'm a sucker for acoustics. Having been raised on rock n roll, I was THRILLED to hear this version! I’m waiting for the right moment to play it for my rock n roll drummer husband, who has poo pooed my love for BTS because they are a “boy band.” 🤨 So I guess I’m saying I like this version more, and I wish it was on the album I preordered! I had the same reaction as you to the new end scene: “weird.” And honestly thought the door crashing down at the end was a little hokey. But on rewatching, I think I like it because it rounds out the whole story line. And I agree with you about the scenes with JHope and RM, that they add vital pieces to the story as well. BTW I really appreciate your honest reactions! It is refreshing to watch a channel that doesn’t give fake love (hehe) for views. 😊

i like nj and yoongis parts that are more minimalistic, the drums are so slow and the drum rolls especially, i feel like i expect way more. the guitar riff is fine but its really simple, its just like the same 3 chords over and over again. whoever does the rock remixes, i enjoy them but they really could do with someone more experienced in mixing rock music. i really like rock and guitar, and hearing it in this song made me miss it, but regardless of bias i still felt the remix needed more

Yeah I love rock and when I heard the mix I was thrilled, it sounds beautiful, and with Spring Day having its own rock remix I am living for pop-rock BTS, more of that please. About the video I appreciated the extended Suga, J-Hope and RM scenes, specially J-Hope's, that scene when he bites the candy and falls has so much impact it's amazing, and the drowning was hauntingly beautiful. Overall I loved it, can stop repeating myself that I want more of that from them.

It's weird.. One would think that as a metalhead I'd like this version better, but I almost feel like the guitars are a bit distracting at points? They kinda overlap the vocals in a weird way and thus I think the original track sounds more intense..... still awesome tho. Yes to more rock in kpop

I preffered this version to the original. I just love how pretty and powerful the variety of guitars sound. i think that the problem (dont misunderstand me, i love the rock version too) is i think that they only took the vocals of the original song and added the rock instrumental, and that makes it a little weird or "not compatible", so i would like to hear it live so that their voices combine or go with the rock music goes, just my opinion

I enjoy this rocking version a lot because I love Rock and hearing real instruments. I always feel happy when BTS incorporates a bit of rock to their music or a live band to their concerts. I also think it's fun to have different versions of the same song. Having said that, I'm not sure if I prefer this version or the original one... Because the vocals in the original version sound more piercing (specially Jimin's voice) and that stands out a lot to me. To be more specific, these are my thoughts about this remix: In one side, there is an acoustic guitar at the beginning, the end and in between the loud explotions of instrumentals, it sounds very gentle, minimalistic and kinda angelic? It reminds me of bells. In the other side, there are loud instruments during the chorus and the choreography scenes. I love how they become louder in crescendo, they enhance the dramatic-angsty nature of the lyrics. The acoustic guitar is very pretty but I don't think if it fits the song, it trows me off every time. But at the same time, this contrast makes this version more interesting, more original than it would be without it. I also noticed they incorporated or enhanced a lot of sound effects such as Jungkook's breathing, the snickers swallowing J Hope, Jimin closing the water faucet, the fire crackling, footsteps, etc. Ive seen a lot of people complaining about that in the comments, but I loved that. I think it makes this feel even more like a short film and I think it's really cool. However, for some reason I was expecting more changes during the Interlude. I know its an essential part of the storytelling that probably couldn't be omitted, but for some reason I was expecting an instrumental interlude instead of that scene, and I just... I wanted an instrumental interlude so bad.

I prefer this version of Fake Love over the original. This one feels more emotional and shows more of the boys’ backstories. You could also hear Jungkook breathing after running down the hallway and I really liked that. It finally shows that the other members were hiding their pain, sorrow, and trauma. Jungkook finally understood as he saw each one of his hyungs, and then, he joined them.

I'm really digging your channel -- I definitely want to go back and check out your other non-BTS stuff. (Wait... there are things that are NON-BTS? But... why?) I have heard this song at least 100 times, and they get me with that last pause before the pre-chorus EVERY TIME. What I find interesting about this video, beyond its connection to the whole BTS Video Universe thingy, is the use of Jungkook as the central figure. This extended version makes it much more obvious with the end part, but it plays to me that as the maknae, he is now coming of age and growing up. By donning the mask the other members have been wearing already, he is at last leaving his vulnerable, child/real self behind, and learning to hide like his hyungs. I've also been a fan of J-Hope's story independently of the larger BTS Universe. As someone who struggles with food and body-image issues, the visual of food=drugs is especially poignant. In this extended version, the first time I saw J-Hope drowning in the candy, it was like getting punched in the (ample) gut. I just love these guys. They make me dancy AND thinky.
