Every JYP group is great, got7 for example saved JYP from bankruptcy and I respect every group in JYP, they’re all very talented. The Best Thing I Ever Did is to STAN TWICE and get into KPOP this year , I knew that you will absolutely love this MV just because TWICE got an upgrade on their cinematography and visuals for MV this year , some people are still skeptical about their songs recently tho but I feel they are really producing some amazing GEMS for KPOP as a whole thus will probably go down as one of the best KPOP GG to ever exist when they ultimately disband. One of the best things I ever did this year was subscribing to Form of Therapy. I mean man, you got to see his reaction + insights in film-making and photography which are very much note-worthy. I didn't enjoy the music video that much at first (was focusing on the song) until I watched this reaction video and I regret not appreciating it at first watch. Those shots are really gorgeous. You are absolutely right about the nostalgia feeling and the color grading. But those shallow depth lenses can be used quite easily if you go manual focus and manual white balance. You need a really really good camera and an expert camera operator, but it is doable. And I am sure you know this, but for who doesn't know, the difference in color between cold and warm color grading are three pieces of A4 paper. One teal, one white and one diffused orange (or one white paper and 3 different lights, but that's harder). So for anyone who wants to play with colors, set you camera to manual white balance and have fun!

The cold tones early in the video are, I believe, more than just "winter nostalgia." As you say, they are clearly playing off the warm and cold tones, but they appear to be really playing up a feeling of loneliness, also. The cold teal tone plays up the 'nostalgia' of the 4:3, but also the way it makes us feel closed off, especially to modern audiences used to the wider (and later warmer) 'embrace' of 16:9. Each of the girls is alone at first in their frame. There is an elegance, but a sadness. Tzuyu in the vast empty theme park. Nayeon drinking tea alone. Chaeyoung (who shines brightest in Twice holiday M/Vs for some reason) gave me real feels of a college student away from home for the holidays, waiting in her empty library. But then comes the real miracle of the holiday season - companionship. Twice finds each other. They look back in the theater, not just on the sweet moments of the past year, but on how (as in Merry & Happy) they've come from a place of loneliness to having a family in each other. They find love, and the video format subtly opens up to 16:9 to show the girls together. And, if you also choose to see it as an extended metaphor for Once around the world, being both alone in our normal lives, but together in a shared fan family, it's really quite powerful. I almost wish the lyrics had been less a normal love song, and more explicitly about family and friendship. After a remarkable year for Twice, this was an amazingly heartfelt way to end it.
