They're new choreography is hard, but I like how when they sing the title of the cheoreo the dance is a little simplier. Like if we cant dance to the rest of it, we can at least do the hand movements. 👌🏾

Everyone telling twice to switch up the concept, but when they finally do with this song fans are disappointed because its "not catchy" and that really annoys me because this one of twice's best title tracks
@aishwarryavp74356 жыл бұрын
This is mainly because fans liked twice originally for the cutesy concept. But many non fans (general people) would like to see something different compared to what ever most gg does these days. This song definitely has more depth than other twice songs tho.
@lilacbp39086 жыл бұрын
I agree, I like the direction twice is going for if they continue with what they did with yes or yes. For me it's their best title track, and I like how different it is from their other songs.

uwu boi This is the best tittle track of Twice so far. I can actually see their growth in this comeback: Twice still keeps their cutesy concept to some extend but it is totally different. I got goosebumps and almost cried at my first time watching the MV because I was shocked by how good the song, the choreography, and the video are. What really comes off from this song, is the confidence they portray. The lyrics have a confident woman taking charge, the dance is really energetic and overall, it feels like they aren't so much hiding behind their image, but showing off their strengths. They feel genuine here, more so than in their earlier stuff. Nothing wrong with the cutesy stuff, and they aren't abandoning it, but I like how since WIL they seem to be growing as artists, and not being pigeon-holed, instead showing off their different attributes and styles. Definitely one of their best title tracks.
@33Jenesis6 жыл бұрын
This. Absolutely. The lyric takes confidence to deliver, not being coy, sexy, or coquettish. The girls got the tone, facial expression, and body language (including choreo) right with individuality coming from each member.
@onceuponagoat23166 жыл бұрын
Agreed. It isn't so cookie cutter. 'I am pretty girl why dont you love me!!'
@joseangeles83826 жыл бұрын
I get what you mean about the lyrics, but idk I kinda felt it a bit ......rapey? Like “yes or yes” or “I respect your decision but reject your rejection “. Mind you I LOVE this song, but I got some major FATE Kiyo-Hime yandere vibes from it XD
@benkalem6 жыл бұрын
@@joseangeles8382 I think that interpretation is just silly, and totally removed from context. It's false virtue signaling. I guess it's just the thing nowadays, to get offended on someone's behalf, just in case, or to make oneself seem somehow superior. When you look look at what is actually being said in the song, the meaning is pretty clear. It's about confidence and self-worth, the narrator is stating "I know you'll come around, because I'm awesome." In the narrator's view there is no need to force any of this, because they are confident in the outcome. That's why she feels at ease rejecting the potential rejection. She wants him to arrive at the same conclusion she has already come to.
@joseangeles83826 жыл бұрын
Chauncer I guess so , yeah. I guess the immediate vibe was very “you have no choice” yknow? I thought that if a boy group came up with a song like this, it would be received totally different. For them it’s kinda like “oh they’re cute girls so it’s ok ^_^” Mind you, I wasn’t all “omgawd it’s a song about sexual assault “ I just got yandere vibes from the whole creepy stare into the camera and some of the lyrics. The song is about confidence, but every reaction video that I have seen , everybody was commenting (I’m pretty sure in a joking way) “oh we don’t have a choice”

Heart Shaker is my favourite TWICE song too, mostly because of its chorus. In terms of song structure, I think David Amber has a good feel for how to build up to hard-hitting choruses better than most. That's the main similarity I see between Yes or Yes and Heart Shaker. That and the fact that he apparently likes giving a surrealist feel to his cinematography through his camera movements and angles. Structurally, this song is definitely weirder than most of the other TWICE songs - it kind of feels almost like a revolving door of interesting musical styles, in the same way that SNSD's I Got a Boy was. When I first heard YoY, my first impression was actually that it kind of felt more like a Red Velvet song (in the same vein as Power Up, Red Flavor or Russian Roulette). But I found myself liking it on repeat a lot - it definitely grows on you quickly. Actually I found it becomes even more of an earworm if you listen to WITHOUT the music video. Great changeups in rhythm and driving beats throughout.

I think what I liked best about this song was it had hints of "retro" vibes without going all out like a lot of current Kpop songs. A lot of songs right now are going for a 90s pop/R&B vibe when they go retro.... This song sounds more like early 2000s girl pop, but subtly.

Okay, I've listened to a very small part of their discography Dance the Night Away - I've heard the Chorus too many times outside of the MV to not get annoyed by it (I'm sorry, I like the song as a whole but it's one of those songs with a chorus that mostly repeats a word or phrase and I hate those and that's unfortunately the part people always play 😟) What is Love? - yo the artistry and the references. I love it. BDZ album - I wasn't expecting it to be so good omg Yes or Yes - *DIES FROM THE CONCEPT, THE MUSIC, THE VOCALS, THE OUTFITS, THE AESTHETIC, THE MAGIC, THE MOST PERFECT VIDEO, THE BOP* *revives to add TWICE to list of artists to stan* *dies again because of how overwhelmingly good this was* . . . I agree that David Amber has made such great bops for girlgroups that now he is on the same level of Black Eyed Pilseung (producers for Twice's title tracks including Likey and also Apink's new song). i think i have to agree with you where i think that this song has something that was missing from previous twice songs. i was never really much of a fan until likey and heartshaker where i could feel that they were more impactful in some way. i hope they can keep going in this direction.

Woah I can't believe you, Kevin and Umu are friends haha cuz this channel and ReacttotheK are my 2 main go-to channels for Kpop reaction videos. I'm so happy to find out that you and Kevin have the same sentiment as mine cuz there's just something about Heartshaker and the title tracks after that, that I love. Been talking about it with some fellow Twice fans and they couldn't understand it. I also love every Twice title track after Heartshaker (but HS is still my fave haha)

I haven’t heard this from twice since like ooh ahh... I think this slight change (and less cute) is really good for them. The cutesy stuff isn’t as prevalent as normal and it’s refreshing

In my opinion, Twice is already great when they debut. And yes they are definitely improving over the years and their style starts changing from Likey. (And Likey is my favourate yet) They got lots of criticism in the era of Cheer Up and TT, saying their dance is too simple, they could not sing, their lyrics are meh blablabla. But if you followed some of their cover stages, you'll find their ability in singing and dancing is at least on the same level with other major girl groups. And they are able to handle sexy and girl crush concepts very well, especially sexy concept. I can understand JYPE wants to play things safe, so the the style change is coming very slow, but I'm fine with that. Twice is meant to give someone energy and smile after one day's tiring work. Another thing is, if you try to learn their dances each time, their choreography is getting very difficult since What is Love! Anyone who tries will know what I'm saying.

Definitely react to "Young and Wild" from this release! It's really different for a Twice track and probably my favourite from this release!
