I'm a self-taught pianist migrating to film scoring and orchestra production. I can't thank you enough! This video is the only video I found that is both detailed and helpful when teaching others what they can create with nothing. Most videos out there just play the track through with no explanation of which instruments they used, what vibe they were going for and how to piece it all together! Very informative and amazing work!

Nathan! This track is, to quote you, 'SO DOPE"! I don't know if you've seen the pre/mid/post roll ads on KZbin recently, this piece reminds me of some of the scores for those "indestructible drones" and "game changing air conditioner" ads, they've been going at the cinematic scores recently. Kinda want to get back into scoring/sound design stuff. There's only so many of those elements you can fit into a single song before it sounds too over the top. Great work!

I've been confused about how to get started with DAWs (I'm an intermediate-level pianist & sort-of-beginner violinist who wants to make music at home too, and before this the only music software I had figured out was Musescore, which does help with midi but yk wanted to expand my skills). This video actually made a lot of things make more sense

They are ridiculously good value for the (no) money! I use them all the time in my work - playing around with the different variations with some of them is fun too. I often myself using the various string ones instead of their more expensive orchestral plugins sometimes because they can sound quite a lot more acoustic (though obviously they are a lot more limiting in terms of the articulations you can use).

@FLH3official4 жыл бұрын
Even if I own some Spitfire's classic, and not free, libraries, I would say LABS is definitively a very inspirational package if you are in a certain kind of music. Personnaly I've maybe 5 or 8 titles which I've started to compose with one of theses LABS sounds. Maybe in some of them I haven't kept the original LABS sounds but the compositional process began with few keys & chords of them. And I've many "stacks/patches" in my Logic's library which are made with a bit of LABS in them.
@NathanJamesLarsen4 жыл бұрын
Yes I use them even when I've got loads of paid libraries for sure. I use the Soft Piano all the time and I love the dulcimers
@FLH3official4 жыл бұрын
@@NathanJamesLarsen The soft piano, obviously, the dulcimer, the choirs and the "scarry strings" are ones of my favourites. Try to lay in a instrument stack one of these long scarry strings with a distant piano... Instant ambiance for a scandinavian noir series. (lonely snowy road, sounds in the police radio, finding a dead body in a forest, etc.. You get it :-) )

You know, you'd expect more KZbin Producers to have videos that actually show how to do the music making thing, instead of just ranting on and on about production mistakes beginners make and all kinds of new plugins and libraries. This is a lot more interesting for me at least, because instead of just having a finished piece of music with a ton of plugins on top and saying "this is what Spitfire LABS sounds like", we get an honest, raw and unfiltered demonstration of just how good it sounds. Plus watching more skilled musicians compose music is just fun.
