This is a good instructional video using a cool tune. Love the drum sounds and the panning of the guitars. The floor tom is what a floor tom should sound like. The Eric Valantine Pultec trick I will try for sure. I've been experimenting lately using the Pultec on the master buss with interesting results.

Track sounds amazing!. Been mixing and mastering in Luna instead of Studio One the last couple weeks and I've really enjoyed the experience and learned it pretty quick. Don't think I'm going back to Studio One. Projects sound so much better going through Luna (with the Studer Tape and Neve Summing) and my clients have noticed the difference. Missing sidechain too but hopefully that's coming down at some point too.

Neve Summing + Studer Tape + Ravel + Minimoog = $700 extra. I'm going through the same process you are going through right now without the creative bundle. It's still fast but the mix definitely lacks (without Neve summing) that special sauce that makes me say "Avid, you've taken my last $600!"

You don't need an Apollo X to run Luna. You need a Thunderbolt Apollo or Arrow to run Luna. Just letting you know. They have a list of the supported Aollos and Arrows on their website.

I'm a Logic user and happy with it, really. Luna seems cool too, but being part of an ecosystem puts me off. Unluckily I don't own any Apollo interface, but still if I had... getting attached to one DAW because of the hardware I could have today, it wouldn't allow me to get another brand system in the future, as I would be too invested into Luna, and UAD DSP plugins. And that could be a big problem if one day I couldn't afford it and had to go back to something else. This is obviously a luxury problem of todays world. Same as having some Apple stuff, and just staying with an older device before having saved enough to upgrade, instead of buying a good enough Android device, just for the sake of staying with Apple. Universal Audio is a great company, and I hope for the day I can own an Apollo x4, x8 or even the behemoth x16, as well as the rest of a mid2pro rrecording studio as what you Andrew has!... but as for now, and some more years, I really have enough with the Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 mkII, and my bedroom studio to be honest. I haven't written any Hits just yet. :D Thanks for the vid, and congrats to Ariana for her first finished song!.. btw. Ben the drummer is great! I'd consider him to be my drum coach if I lived somewhat nearer, even my main instrument being the guitar. ;)

Yeah it is a shame that companies are still doing things like this in this day and age. Luna should be standalone. not locked down to hardware. No disrespect to Universal Audio because their hardware products are superb but I just don't agree with locking software to hardware anymore. which is why I went with Focusrite. I can route any of my effects from any brand to the mix control software and get the job done with zero latency.

Ive tried LUNA but it is so awkward for me to use. Seems to be missing many little features. Can you even export a mp3. Felt like I was Beta testing. I'll give a rest for a while. Is there any plans of updating this DAW?

Yes you can export mp3s, they send updates out almost twice a week. You should check out the manual, you’ll find an answer for almost all of your issues.
