theres somthing i dont understand about what hes saying tho. as far as my knowledge goes stacking vocal layers only thickens the mix assuming theyre affected and processed differently by whatever is on the individual vocal chain. so ARE these seperate takes? are they processed differently? cause if its all the same audio thats layered wouldnt that just increase the volume? i know hes panning and whatever but if theyre all the same take it wouldnt make much of a difference.
@daprincec86654 жыл бұрын
Separate takes that are processed similarly. You can tell that they are different takes by the difference in the audio wave shapes.
@rohanraj18534 жыл бұрын
I'm sure their different takes 🤷
@RENEGADEELREY4 жыл бұрын
They are most definitely different takes. I stack hooks (r&b or rap) 4 times mostly and verses with one whole dub/ stack. The key is making sure the artist is on point with the stack. Meaning their timing, delivery and tones are ALL the same... if not you may have to wrestle a little to make it seamless. 🦅 Preciate y’all for tuning in! 🙏🏽
@jdmorge4 жыл бұрын
Ashton Khan stacking does make the vocals louder but u lower the stacked ones to give the original more body
@harambo884 жыл бұрын
allways different takes. the idea of copying it, change it anyway so it isnt identical is like the holy grail for noobs but it never worked and it never will. also if you cant double, you should train instead of record. and believe in 50years ppl that are lazy and make music for posing instead out of love for music will search for ways and still wont find any. same kind of ppl that wants to be rapper but not to be bothered with writing lyrics. i use doubles only to check myself, bc my voice is heavy still i ALLWAYS double to proof myself it sits. then i mute them. doubles are kind of way to proof you have skills. same like not cutting in the part. bc you cant do that stuff onstage. basicly that means, you cant do it at all. but nearly ANY artists need some correction of the timing in the stacks(wich is the mos time consuming, boring and exhausting task in recording) only very few ppl can stack 10-100 takes and you wont hear that it is more than 1. one trick for achieving this is to swallow plosiv endings. for example if your line is "iam the king" the double should only be "I am the kin" so theres no overlapping . also your engineer will literally suck your dick in joy cause you saved him tons of work. if i am new in a studio i allways do onetake, firsttry, doubles with swallowed plosivs, some adds and then i go home. they talk about that for years bc recording and editing me takes about 9-12 minutes max while they normally need about 2 days with editing to get to the same precision. then i also know how to move, so that my volume allways is the same, no matter if i am doing a quit or loud part, so no volume automation or need for compression .
