I would actually love an episode or two of Becky's Gotcha even if it's just the try staff. Have selection of people where it is her goal to scare them, who ever doesn't make a noise/jump wins Becky's Gotcha. It would be hilarious to see her hide all around the office/studio and scare people.

Becky should have a game show where people compete to make pilot episodes of Becky’s show ideas. The contestants have to walk down a hallway with many doors and she’ll pop out and scare the shit out of them letting them know they lost. But she’s never behind a door. Maybe she’s a lamp, a table, a picture, etc. but it needs to be bad, like a lampshade only. But it’s not even Becky, it’s Keith.

I still call my mother “mommy”. She won’t answer if I call her anything else. Like literally pretends she can’t hear it. If I’m mad or upset with her I’ll call her by her first name. If she’s being weird I’ll call her “mother”. I’m 48.
@ednasierra10832 ай бұрын
I think it’s a cultural thing , in Spanish my mom was mami to me, I’m mamá to my daughter, mamita the equivalent to mommy is use as a term of endearment. Who’s your mommy/daddy? is something else.

I am so so SO here for Becky Gotcha. I'd watch everything released just for the possibility 😆 Thank you so much for that, so much fun to listen to you all losing it. Big thanks for the warning before the show started - I considered waiting to watch and just continuing to wallow in my misery, but I'm really trying to let some hope back in since that's always the first thing oppressors try to kill. Love you all for (even unknowingly) fighting back with friendship and silliness. It's so needed right now 💚

I call my mom "mother" "mama" mami"/"mommy" "mammita" and any other variation of the word but when referring to her I say "my mom", "my mama" and sometimes "my mommy" for the lols. When I am referring to her to my sister I say mommy sometimes just in general and we both do it. Its not weird at all in my opinion because for us it is a loving term. My partner also calls me "mami" even if we dont have kids sometimes as it generally is a term of endearment and nothing inherently sexual about the lingo. But you do you.
@tatiana1132 ай бұрын
Exactly. Just because their minds are in the gutter, that doesn’t apply to everyone. Let people call their mum, mummy with no judgement. Again, there’s cultural nuisances here and again they completely miss the mark. More diversity is needed on this podcast.

For bad kitchen- a lot of it can be just making certain buttons on things not an option. Completely cover the screen and all the buttons on the microwave - maybe get one they aren’t familiar with- so they’re just blinding pressing buttons. Same with the oven, cover the screen so they can’t see the temperature.

"Becky Gotcha" would be the best mini series!! They need to do it in a fancy mansion with security cameras everywhere (that's how they have footage of Becky sneaking around and hiding). There could be a secret room that has live feed from all the cameras and someone talking to Becky through an earpiece to let her know where the celebrity is. Or if Becky doesn't want to do the scaring she could direct someone else and tell them what to do.

This “mommy” thing is cultural. I’m from Central America and we absolutely say Mami and Papi our entire lives. Obviously, it also depends on the individual relationships and whatnot, but it’s very common to do so in private. In public it depends on context, like you wouldn’t really refer to them that way when talking to your co-workers for example. But friends, especially close friends, yeah! You might even ask after your friend’s parents like that, “Y tu mami? How is she?” I will also say that the possessive article is usually a must. It’s “mi Mami is doing great” and almost never “Mami is doing great” because that’s not her name! It’s a relationship label, not a replacement for someone’s name, because *that* I would actually find pretty cringe lmao.

If I'm talking about my mom, it's either "my mom or my mama". If im talking TO her, "mommy or mami". Which like, it's bizarre to me you guys are so shocked by it. Like, the same way you get childhood nicknames and you call them that even as adults, at this point it's basically their name. I'd be so sad as a mom like "dang my kid thinks they're too cool or too grown to call me mommy". Then again maybe it's a cultural thing, cause at least in Latino families they see us as babies no matter how old we get, so we don't really grow out of affectionate names.

There’s many people who call their mother ‘mummy’ and there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s a term of endearment so no judgment from me. However, I do judge Becky calling her mum ‘Kim’.
