Root canals do weaken the tooth. You won't get a cavity but it does compromise the struckture. I had my first root canal in 1994, and last year it just snapped off at the base. My front tooth. So now I have a fake tooth where the old one was. also, when you do a root canal the root is essentially dead, so there's significant discolouration.

With my complex whiplash, post-concussion and chronic migraine, if a dentist did a root canal on the wrong tooth and then told me I had to sit back down to do another, I think I might actually commit a murder.

I have super long roots too! The oral surgeon didnt tell me until 5 mins before the surgery of getting my wisdom teeth taken out and he told me he could either risk nerve damage or leave the roots behind. I opted to leave them behind. It was the worst surgery I ever had to heal from!

I had my first root canal at 22, and I also have very long roots! My endodontist was vaguely sexist and sang along to somewhat vulgar music during the actual procedure, which was very unnerving. To his credit, he discovered that the tooth next door to the root canal one was dead, but let's just say I'm really glad he wasnt the one who pulled it 😒

Unless it’s a fancy cake that needs egg whites beaten into it, I have always made cakes with just one bowl. None of that mixing dry and wet ingredients separately before putting them together. Made a lot of cakes and it’s always worked out fine.

jonny definitely should get compensation from the root canal specialist. that tooth is going to need a crown (often not covered by insurance) and other work in the future because its been compromised, and it didn't need to be. it will have to have work done on it multiple times in his life throughout decades. absolutely get compensated. once you have a root canal the tooth is not as strong and it requires a crown at some point and then that has to be replaced over time. your talking thousands of dollars over your life and hours of dental work each time. i had to learn about this because of my one root canal that I just had to get a crown on. it makes them weaker to get the root canal. please sue.

So from experience, you can need a second root canal on the same tooth. It’s a 90% or so successful procedure and there are times that it needs to be redone.
