Product managers different academic backgrounds se aate hain aur kai alag-alag disciplines ke experts ho sakte hain. To some extent that's true. But a "product" manager, at least in a good product based company (I'm not talking about lala startup - where even I interned as a PdM) the Product and Project Manager roles are separate. Especially in some older technology companies (like telecommunications),Product Management roles are only available to Engineers with around 15-20 years of experience. I've never seen an MBA in a Product role in the company I work, it's always either people with PhDs or extensive experience in telecommunication networks.

Hello bhaiya, mai aapke videos daily dekhta hu aur use follow bhi karta hu. Bhaiya mai bahot bade confusion me padd chuka hu, mujhe aapki help chahiye. Mai currently software engineer hu ek mnc me. Abhi tak mai 2 yrs below experience ka hu aur package between 5 lpa to 10 lpa hai. Mai abhi confuse hi ki kya mujhe software development me hi career aage badhane chahiye ya phir MBA karke product management ke field me Jana chahiye. Mujhe dono hi roles pasand hai but I am confused ki sirf software engineer ke role me kya mujhe itne progress milega career me in terms of salary and growth. Bhaiya mere ghar se koi financial support nahi hai MBA ka toh please if possible aap mujhe aise colleges suggest karege jisse mujhe sure shot product manager ka role mile. Because if I am doing MBA I don't want to work in other roles. Neither IB nor consultin, even though anything related to Marketing or Operations. Bhaiya please help me to come out of this dilemma 🙏
