How can one approach PM/Customer facing executives to help and learn from them? In medium/big companies employees are often expected to stay within their domain of work. For eg, a developer has the freedom to talk to PMs and design teams, but there is a limit up to which we can contribute in a new domain. Also, it is difficult to help and learn from sales teams since it is an entirely different domain.

There is no forever language :-) ...you need to keep updating your technical skills year on year; Compared to front end technology...Lesser changes will be in Databases...but you need to decide where you want to be based on your willingness to learn...hope this helps

Choose a language that you feel you can learn and would want to continuously upgrade yourself by learning that again and again. Because technology keeps changing from time to time. Another good way to understand whats trending in the market is to check different job descriptions of top companies and make notes of the technologies they require for the job. Find the common one and it should be able to help you. Hope this helps you a little :-)
