I've been skating for 63 years, and have been one of the top Urban skaters in the USA since 1971. I have always skated on Reidell 220's. Recently, I submitted a redesign improvement to Reidell, and they sent me the prototype which they nailed on the 2nd try. I love the 220 for the comfort, quality, and price. You cannot beat it! Over the years. I tried the 297, 172, and a couple more pricier models, but in my opinion the 220 is the best of all of their boots. I have 2 pairs currently. Love Reidell!

This is great. I was searching for a 336 review on youtube of which there are basically none. I only stumbled across this because I really like your deep dive reviews. My only suggestion would be to change the title to add the term "336" so people can find it when doing a general 336 search. I know this is mostly for the 220 but the comparisons with the 336 are incredibly useful. Thanks again for the awesome content!!

Plan on going from the 220 > 336 as I get better at jumps/spins. Thank you for doing this review. Hell, if you'd be open to building a boot for me in California I would love to go through you. I really do appreciate your knowledge whether its mounting a boot or simple boot construction reviews.

I’m skating on NOS 220s. I love how sleek they feel. I added my own shearling which was necessary due to the older style of tongue foam. I’ve watched so many move to 3200s but I’m skeptical. The main hesitation I have on the 3200/336 is its bulk - my vintage boots are more slender compared to today’s boots. Thanks for the comparison! Hope you do a 297 review soon - I think I’m going that route for my next new (non vintage) boot.

thanks for this overview! yes its interesting how skaters that have been skating a year or two are jumping to 3200s but I'm sure Riedell is happy to take their money lol. I think my next boot one day will be a colorlab 220

Between the toe box of the 220 and the 336, which is shaped more like the Jack boot? Despite the consensus of the pros on Jacks, i love mine. They fit my wide feet like a glove from the first minute. I want a tan suede color lab.. I love everything about the 336 but keep getting talked out of it as i would never need its level. I just flow skate. But perfect toe fit is what is most important to me. Both the Jack and the Lolly were great to my feet, sadly they don't have a tan suede. I don't want to drop a G if its toe box like you say here is kinda weird shaped? But everything I want the 220 doesn't have..shearling, lace bar etc

The 220 will be shaped much more like the Jack's toebox

Hi! I recently started to skate again at the Rollercade too. I’m starting to learn tricks. I don’t mind spending money on 220 boots. I just want a comfortable boot where it doesn’t hurt my feet so I can skate for longer hours. Will the 220 be better in that regard over the 120?
@rollerskateuniverse67637 ай бұрын
The 220 will be a little better because the construction is a little better. Although, depending on where the pain is located, it may be remedied easily. If the pain is at the bottom of the foot, may be an insole. Top of foot, lacing differently can help
@toddnguyen2107 ай бұрын
@@rollerskateuniverse6763 thank you! The pain is always at the bottom inside of the feet. The same thing now when I skate in Rollerblade Macroblade the pain is bad after 30 minutes of skating. What insole do you recommended sir? And thank you!

Helpful video, thanks so much. I've had Moxi Lolly skate for about four years for dance/rhythm skating and they've been fine, but wanted a little more support in the ankle so I'm thinking the 220's are the way to go now after watching this. I have Falcon Pilot plates right now, but do you have any other plates you'd suggest? Best option and then one that's really good and isn't super expensive? Appreciate it!

Can you still do stiff moves you would do in the 336 in the 220 ?
@rollerskateuniverse6763 Жыл бұрын
I'd say the 120 would be better because it's stiffer than the 220, even after break-in

If I wear a ladies sz 8 shoe.can I wear a sz 8 skate?
@rollerskateuniverse6763 Жыл бұрын
Typically they run in men's sizes, a 7 should work
@memorizeitwithmusic6126 ай бұрын
I wear a women’s 8 in shoes. I have two pair of 220’s - a black 7.5 and white 7. The 7.5’s are slightly big so I put in a thicker insert, wear tube socks, and lined the tongue with shearing. The 7’s fit like a glove with no sock. I cannot wear socks with them though.

So if i have a normal foot width, what should i go for? The narrow or the medium witdth 220?
@rollerskateuniverse6763 Жыл бұрын
Medium usually fits most people, but if you've tried a regular 220 on and it's still narrow try the narrows. If you can find a dealer with them in stock, try the regular width to see where you're at

I have the Antik Ar2 in a size 10 and it fits like a glove. Problem is that Riedell do not have a dealer in Denmark - well that is if i want to have anything but Moxi´s🙂thanks for replying👍

@christiankromphardt moxis are built on a narrow last. If the width od those fits, definitely order those 220s in narrow

Reactor Purple cushions - impossible to find. So Lame! Came with squishy orange. Managed to find yellows next hardness up and still to squishy. So buy the sure grip red (hard like 93a) and too hard so massive slip in corner and not same type of rubber (like not springy at all). Imagine spending all this Mulah on a high end plate that sucks because you can’t get the firm cushions. Had to use the yellow squishy barrel on the bottom and red (too form) conical to try and mimic the purple. End result? They suck! Inconsistent, unpredictable, feels like I gots Gumby taxis on my feet. Anyone wanna buy so really great high end Reactors? Best plate ever! I promise LoL. I’m gonna go back to what I grew up on - Laser Nycon old school. Or find some outdoor old school Blue “The Whips”.
