If you shorten that cord to exactly what you need, you'll allow your motor to run more efficiency and perhaps get a longer life from it. The longer the cord, the more juice you pull from the batter and the less your motor get. Your sprayer is a great set up

You'll need the ATV one with a boom sprayer to cover that much area. Look on your herbicides to see what weeds they kill.... I'm not familiar with "skeeters"... Look at 2-4-D and see if it kills what you want it to.

I don't know if you'll reply but I just picked one of these sprayers up and I was just wondering what the hose on the top is for? The hose that comes from the green splitter back into the tank? You can see it perfectly at 3:33

I need a gasket for the cap of that sprayer. My Bonide Fruit Tree Spray made it expand. My experience is all the pumps are the same. Probably all manufactured by the same company. I had a 1gpm pump and replaced it with that 2gpm. Much better.

I've got an off brand and already the hose is leaking where it goes into the wand. It's banded there from the factory. I'm going to have to cut it off and see what I can do with it. No boom or trailer with mine either. That is the way to go.
@M0D0C4211 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a great sprayer, except for the run-away cap. I wonder why they would manufacture a cap to do that? :)
@wbduckman4 жыл бұрын
I have the same sprayer. Like mine, the sprayer came with a cheap plastic cord that connected to cap & tank that broke. ( notice the open hole in the middle of the cap) I would advise anyone considering buying one of these to go with a 3 nozzle sprayer. 2 nozzles does not spray evenly. Coverage is less in the middle.

This one was mounted at the factory. After a few years I had a small leak but wasn't too bad. Haven't used that one in a while. I use this one now: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHLMn5tmmKx5oJI

Ok I found a cap, one more question - I just figured out my pump doesn’t work, and you had mentioned you put a new pump on it which pump did you get?
@BIGALTX2 жыл бұрын
You may not be able to find one exactly like that, but look at the model # and Serial # of the pump and google it. I just found a 12V pump (i think at northern tool) and made the fittings work, because they were different. It's been a long time, so I don't remember specifics

Might be a silly question but what size spayed would you recommend for half an acre?
@BIGALTX7 жыл бұрын
This one: amzn.to/2vMWRw5 You could pull this one behind a riding lawnmower. Or one that goes behind a 4-Wheeler would be great for a 1/2 acre: amzn.to/2wHWNfY You could put this one on a 4 wheeler or a golf cart.

How much area does that 25 gallon set up spray?
@BIGALTX4 жыл бұрын
Depends on how fast you pull it, etc... not sure. I got a large 110 gallon PTO sprayer now and haven't used this small one in a few years.
@TheBeingReal10 жыл бұрын
I have one of these, here's my experience: Wheel bearings are el-cheapo junk, no way to regrease. 1st failure destroyed a tire too. This was year one, used probably 3 times doing reasonably even pasture and lawn ~12 acres. I put in better brearings since then. Since then it has basically self destructed, hard tubes from the tank to the pump all snapped, connections leaked along the way, now it is useless. If you need this for more than anything beyond extremely light and infrequent duty, don't bother.
@BIGALTX10 жыл бұрын
Sorry that you haven't had the same good experience with your sprayer. Twelve acres is a LOT for a sprayer this size. I probably used it on 2-3 acres, so I didn't wear mine out. A friend of mine used his on 5 acres, and it held up well. Now... last week, I bought a large 110 gallon, PTO driven sprayer to do my other acreage with. I'll keep the small Fimco to do my yard, etc. On the Fimco, I have also had to replace a hose, the "Y", and the 3/8" suction tube in the tank (i used a piece of 3/8" copper pipe, worked great). My new sprayer covers over 30' on one pass, so it will be much quicker than trying to do 10+ acres with this small one. For how old my Fimco is... I think it's held up well, but I'm sure not everyone has had that experience. Thanks for your comment.
@wbduckman4 жыл бұрын
Same experience here. The small wheels and the bearings that it had did not hold up to 200 lbs of water. Especially if you roll over a Rut or small hole. I have had to replace pretty much everything on this unit. Pump, hand wand, hoses, bearings, nozzles, pressure gauge, and now, the tank is leaking. But the worst part has been the company. Customer service is horrible. Even the Manager at my local Tractor Supply hates Fimco Customer Service.

How do you keep your battery on their strong?
@BIGALTX7 жыл бұрын
I hook the pump's cable to the battery or the ATV or Lawnmower that I'm pulling it with.
@JOSHUAloves17 жыл бұрын
TexasPrepper2 so I can simply run two wires to my battery and hook it to the post on the battery that's running the 5.5 gallon per minute pump for my Downstream and system and that's it I don't need to have a breaker or anything just run a straight I guess 14-gauge from positive to positive and negative the negative from each battery correct?
@BIGALTX7 жыл бұрын
You might want to add an inline fuse like you see in automobile applications (on the positive side) amzn.to/2C75FLR
why do you have another hose going into your tank ?
@BIGALTX9 жыл бұрын
+Bob Haddock Hmmmmm... I never thought of it before. The yellow hose is where the pump sucks up from the tank. I guess the other one is an overflow... but really not sure...
@asicace66844 жыл бұрын
@@BIGALTX If it is an overflow tube, that's great for mixtures that need agitating like powder mixtures. But, if it's a "demand" pump that turns on & off as you spray, it wouldn't need an overflow. If the pump runs constantly, that's probably what it is.
@asicace66844 жыл бұрын
I just re-watched your video & I see you have a valve on the return hose that's turned off. I'd say it's an agitation tube that you're not using.

At my age in life I don't want to have to mess with a gas engine to power spray pump......12V electric is God send for me. You did Good job telling what we find in the actual spraying, you covered the sprayer well. Best Wishes. One problem, is there much drift from this type distribution. Nozzle size? Nozzle output? I've been using spraybar w/6 nozzles at about 18" above target. Thanks for sharing. I'll be back.
@BIGALTX10 жыл бұрын
The nozzles on this are about 18" from the ground too... so not much drift. thanks for the comment...

@BIGALTX4 жыл бұрын
Wow... I've never even seen a 30 gallon model. Though they don't last forever, I'm pleased with mine. I have one that's several years old. The pump died and I priced a new pump. Then I priced a new sprayer. Buying the new sprayer was cheaper than replacing the pump on the old one 😎 I found the sprayer on sale for around $60
