Hi Debbie-thanks for your wonderful videos. I basically learned how to can by watching your videos last year. I would love to see more videos about how to can your own recipes that follow the rules of the nchfp.

I find the lid experiments to be very interesting 🙂. The only thing that might make me a little nervous about these particular lids after watching you use them is the residue which you had discovered around the edge after canning with them. Although glad to hear that in a pinch these might work. I think I may be a little bit more comfortable trying out the 'Pur' lids first, which you had also reviewed since those are made with the same sealing material as Ball lids have.

I was really happy with the ForJars lids. I will know more in a month when I open one to check for longer term sealing. I have no hesitation about using the silicone at all. I really think the residue was from fat, but I will check it again before opening one. It came right off with a quick fingernail scrape.

@@DebbiesBackPorch Looking forward to the update in a month, hope they will pass the test of time for you so you won't waste that food in those jars, good luck!

Thank you for this review, it's very informative. Have they held up for the past two months?
@DebbiesBackPorch2 жыл бұрын
Yes they do. I have used about 30 of them so far with only 1 seal failure and that was my fault. I check my jars about once a month and they have stayed sealed.

Is there an update?

I have not filmed an update but I can tell you that they are all still sealed and I have done dozens of jars with them since this video and I had one seal failure, which was my fault. I am loving them.

Debbie, nice video. I watched because I'm concerned about Forjars being manufactured in China. Do you know if anyone has done any metallurgy tests on these lids? China is notorious for substituting less desirable metals for those called out in specifications.
