No, there are other pumps that can do that that operate with disposable batteries. This one just keeps on operating when there is a power outage and when the power goes on the battery charges while the pump continues. It is a seamless process. In my opinion much better since I connect the pump to an air driven filter (not just an airstone) that neess to operate continously to preserve beneficial bacteria. That way when the power goes off you still have filtration, not just aeration.

Means, my power is on and pump is working... power gone pump will still on, and then power comes back it will on and charges itself .. and when power goes, it will stay on ?

@@hashimshaikhonyourry Yes, exactly. The problem is that there is no way to leave it off and only turn it on automatically when the power goes out.

Is there backup power for heaters as well?

Not really unfortunately unless you have a very big battery inverter system with solar in your house. For extended power cuts it would be best to insulate the aquarium.or heat the room with a gas heater. The normal battery inverters work great for pumps and a few lights but a heater draws it flat in no time.

I ran it through a power outage of 12 hours, no problem and the battery indicator was only at half. I would say it will keep going for 20 hours or so in an outage.

They are the same in how they work, one is just a twin outlet, so more air. Anything bigger than a 1.5 foot tank, I'd go for the bigger one, the SB 428.

Brought sb-428 It is worst. Output oxygen is very very less. During dc it don't even produce minimum bubbles which fish can die. I had bad experience. Plz don't promote, waste of money.

Sorry to hear that. Mine was fine but I have had a similar experience with one of the smaller ones (I have three). Suddenly would not charge propertly and never regained full power. There seems to be some batch inconsistency.
