The way you said and the expression on your face when you said, "this has seen some things" about the first overnight pad was absolutely hilarious! I actually laughed out loud. Great and informative video, Amy! I really like the editing on this video. It makes it look much more polished. :)

I LOVE Yurtcraft. I actually just bought 2 more while watching this review. :) I would also say Yurtcraft pads have some of the prettiest fabrics I've seen. I'm thinking about posting a yurtcraft stash pic in the FB group someday.

In case you didn't see it in the video description, if you'd like to skip the pre-review babble in this video, just go to time mark 3:00. :)

All my pads I got from Lisa/Yurtcraft, her pads are my favorite... I love the prints she uses, just adorable. =)

I have to say, I hope those prints come back around again. Gorgeous! You do a wonderful review. There's a few pads in a planetary print in her shop right now that I want. I'm just starting out a purchased stash, and Etsy is just chock-ful of wonderful things! I'll definitely have to check back later when I can justify paying for shipping halfway across the country. Have you purchased from sellers in the Midwest US and Great Lakes area?

Random fact: brussel sprouts for the win! :D I love them! And I love Yurtcraft pads.
@amynix26329 жыл бұрын
+Jazillia007 Yay! A fellow Brussels sprouts lover!! I could eat them until they made me sick. Ha ha. My favorite way to eat them is to quarter the little heads and saute them in vegan butter and garlic until they begin to caramelize, then add 2T of water to the pan, cover, and let them soften for two minutes on medium heat. I eat them straight out of the pan like that. :D

Amy Nix You make me wanna go and buy some! :D I love to eat them without anything else as well. No meat or potatoes needed. Although I admit... sometimes I like to put them into the oven with some cheese on top. I know it's not the best way to eat them but from time to time I need that.

I've decided that I Will try one of her pads b/c of your review...even though the shipping will cost me more than the pad itself, lol

+FruityFoodie I love it. So cute. Check in her custom fabrics and see if she still has some! She had it for a very long time, and if customs are open, I know she will be quite responsive to special requests.

have you tried CozyFolk? I love them so much they are my ultimate fav from all the brands I have tried. I find they are the most discrete and work very well
@amynix26329 жыл бұрын
+flipsyde84 I have. I love how soft they are, and the pantyliner I bought from CozyFolk was amazing, but the pads simply don't work for me. They are beautifully made and some of the softest pads I've ever dealt with, but I gave my CozyFolk pads away because they simply did not work with my underwear/gusset width preferences.
@amynix26329 жыл бұрын
+flipsyde84 That said...the person I gave them to LOVES them. So, it's definitely not because they aren't great pads. Just...personal preference.

I have a question. when I turn my pad inside out my machine starts skipping stitches and it only does this when I turn it inside out. the top thread just slips right out and doesn't hook with the bottom thread. the only thing different about the pad when this happens is that the hidden pull layer, the shiny side is facing up.

+Mxlly X This may very well be needle choice. I would change out your needle for a brand new one. Use a ball point needle if you have one, and see if that solves the problem.

Why would you need such long or heavy/heavy plus pads if you wear a (femme)/cup during your cycle?
@amynix26329 жыл бұрын
+4vrceltic I often overnight without a cup, and I also like having a long overnight, even when I'm wearing my cup because I have very heavy overnight flow. Insanely heavy. It is not unheard of for me to overfill the cup if I sleep (on the weekend for example) more than 6-8 hours. Many people who wear cups would not need a long pad for backup.

I prefer them or recut way of filming. But that's just me.

I'm sorry, but brussels sprouts are nasty. When I was a kid, I tried spitting them in the toilet and flushing them.. didn't work and I totally got busted.

"I'm so relieved you are feeling better! I'm been worried about you!" Are you going to switch your medication for you back? Something that won't make you nauseous? I don't like seeing you unwell.
@amynix26329 жыл бұрын
+thundersnowstorm Thank you for this. I am slowly improving. Since my epidural shot last Thursday, which I talked about at the start of this video, I have not taken ANY pain killers or anti-inflammatories (by order of my ortho specialist and physical therapist, who is also a doctor). That is why I look brighter and am not nauseated or pale or looking "sick" in this video. The medicines are necessary for my pain, but the shot has, so far, reduced that to a point that I don't need to be heavily medicated. So, yes. I'm getting much better at the moment, and I'm hoping that continues and that this course of treatment is the answer for a while. The heaviest drug I have taken since Thursday was Tylenol/paracetamol. So. Progress!

Some women may dislike menstrual cups and may use cloth tampons instead. Or it would be the other way around. It looks like some women can nit them. Would you suggest them? What's you opinion on them? Can you do a video on cloth tampons? Thank you! :)

+thundersnowstorm I no longer have interest in absorbent internal methods. I tried sponges because there were so many who asked me and a company offered to send me some. That said, I don't like absorbent methods. I would definitely support women using cloth tampons made of organic cotton by hand rather than the chemical-laden bleached crap on the market, but I'd honestly prefer they use collection methods or pads, just for safety. TSS is relatively rare, but between 20 and 100+ women in the US die from tampon use every year. That's just enough for me to say nope. That said...unbleached, organic cotton yarn used to make cloth tampons would be infinitely safer and better, and I fully support that for women who don't want to use or who cannot use cups.
