Where can you buy the PUL FABRIC that is comfy

Amy Nix, Thank you very much for this video and some others you've done. I am a senior, soon to be a Great grand mother. I started looking at videos several months ago as a retired "side hustle" as my 8 yr old granddaughter calls it. I have sewn and quilted for well over 60.... yes 60 years. Of all the different KZbinrs I want to say you, take your time.... explain w/o being in a rush. For this ole' gal you are a treat. I am going to look at many more of your videos and hopeful to see a pattern I can live with. 😉😊💜 BTW I do like some of the others as well.

Can someone explain the terminology to me? In layers, what is “topper” and “backing”?
@stefaniedecoster277213 күн бұрын
The topper is the fabric you will wear against your body and the backer is the layer that wil touch your underwear. If you're looking for a detailed tutorial with pictures, google Luna Wolf pads and you will find her website. On the right side of the page you can download the patterns and tutorial in US Letter size or A4 size. Hope this helps!

I'm finally past the menstruation age (yay!!), but one thing I wonder about these is, how do you not end up with blood just running sideways, crossing over the stitch and spreading tpwards your thighs and onto the wing's? I typically had heavy day's with large clots that would just drop, and it always ran sideways! How can these be stitched to catch blood flow in the center, and "walled" on the sides (for those that bleed heavy)? I now just use liner's for very mild and occasional urine leaks, so my aim is to figure out a good liner design that doesn't move around the crotch. Sewing a whole underwear pattern with built-in liner would be best!

@greatnationnow look up some tutorials on 'gusher pads', hopefully you'll find some useful tips there.

I'm going to use paper grocery bags in place of the postal paper. If that doesn't work, I'll be going to the store to get the recommended item. Thanks, I like the video.
@amynix26326 ай бұрын
Brown paper grocery bags should be perfect for this. It's essentially the same paper, and so that is an excellent idea. I hope it works for you!

For any Men reading this, you should feel proud you're taking steps to make your health better. I am a man in my 20s, and thanks to this video, I will be ordering a couple cloth Pads to try. I think this topic is often looked down upon, and although I don't have any health problems with my bladder, like many others, I find there is always a couple droplets of urine that are absorbed into my boxers after using the toilet. This leads to distinctive smell, which makes me insecure and shutters my confidence during the day. I hope this will be a great solution, as until now, I've been putting toilet paper into my boxers each time I used the toilet, and it is not ideal....

Why does my cervix keep getting sucked into this cup? THIS IS MY FAVORITE CUP I DO NOT WANT TO LOSE IT!!! But I do have to SHOVE all of my cups straight in....UNFOLDED because they never ever unfold inside for me. I do have a prolapsed uterus. It's beginning to become a habit of being glued to my cervix EVERY SINGLE TIME.... instead of towards the end of my cycle. I do not want to change back to anything else.

Just found your channel, as I have been suspecting that the poise pantyliners I wear every day are exacerbating my Hidradenitis Supperativa (and the Always pantyliners are actually worse). And I searched for reusable pads for stress incontinence and found you! Can’t wait to watch the rest of your videos.

I enjoyed your informative video on how to make the cloth pads. I started making some a few years ago, but didn't have the PUL. I'm post MP, but use panty liners for freshness. So don't actually need absorbency, some layered flannel is enough. But tired of the cost, chemicals and plastic for store bought that make me itch. I do every thing the same as you except I do use pinking shears trim the outer curves. I nip the inner curves. Thanks for posting these instructions, and for speaking clearly. I'll be checking to see if you have more videos. Happy stitching.

I’m so glad I found this. I’m 58 and 5 days post op. I expected to feel much better than I did. 2 nd day Dr put me on steroid pack because I was in so much pain. Day 5 and my right foot is still numb and tingly. I really thought I would bounce back better than this. So hard to be patient.

Thank you, this was so helpful!! I just want to ask you, these particular thich pads you made here without any waterproof layer in them, do you think they will work for a medium level of inkontinens? Thank you 😉

Thank you for this, I have at 67 just realized that I can make pads for "leaking" I watched dozens of videos before making my first one yesterday. I can't believe how comfortable it is. I had to figure out myself about the outer layer - I will put on my walking foot for the next one, because the movement drove me nuts. Thank you

I'm 47 and leak. I plan on making some and then applying what I learn and like with the reusable pads to modify my undies, kinda like toddler trainers. I was ridiculous and had a kid at 42, hench the early leaking

I find that the regular cloth pads work great for incontinence. Depending on volume of leakage, will determine how often you change. I have a tiny strap with snaps hanging in my shower. After removal of pad, I hand wash pad with warm soapy water (controls odors) and snap them on my strap to dry. When I have several pads and my stash is getting low, I put them all in a mesh bag and wash and dry them in standard washer dryer. I have had no issues. I have purchased pads and made my own. Am going to be making more soon now that I have found the size that is best for me. These pads are GREAT when those store bought ones have irritated your lady parts and you need a better plan. I still use disposables when traveling as they are easier to deal with. If I were to use homemade ones while traveling I would make sure I had a ‘wet’ bag for privacy and ease of transport. As of this time, I don’t use them when on trips where we are not taking the motorhome. Hope this info answers any questions about using ‘Mama pads’ for urinary incontinence. These pads could be modified for seepage further back…..but I would customize the pads to cover this area by making pad longer and wider. These pads are (in my opinion) a better alternative to disposable underwear.

Glad to have seen this video. Now that I am 68 I have had more and more trouble with this. 4 years ago I had my first UTI! My PCP had sent me to the ER I had to use the bathroom while waiting to be seen. Once I got to the bathroom and SAW the toilet my bladder cut loose. This happened twice. I was wearing an adult diaper for which I was happy about as it ended up completely saturated. But since then I have had the occasional problems with smaller leaks such as when I was getting my every 6 weeks IV. Between the water I had been drinking to be hydrated enouch for them to get a vein and a 500cc IV bag and the chair I was sitting on (I have bad arthritis and have to intentionally put different muscles to work to get me out of the chair), every time I got up to go to the bathroom, my bladder squeezed and out it came. So I don't go for those IV without a large incontinence pad. But after years of wearing mini pads or incontinence ones I started having a reaction to them with horrible itching, etc. These look like a good idea and on my screen, I am seeing a bunch of links to more videos on this, so not much Googling needed. Thanks!
