Ok…… saying the cost is justified because the company had to rework their machinery in order to wind yarn in a certain way is like saying that I need to start charging people to watch my KZbin videos, because I bought a new camera and new computer. As a company, you suck up the setup cost of something that you want to make. You don’t inflate prices for a lower amount of yarn and then pass that on to your customers.

First time watching your channel. YES, just that.... Gimmick, it looked like one to me, and YES in the tab on the end of the center pull. Can't imagine the engineering and cost of reworking machines to do this, gotta think figuring out how to put a tab on the end would have been cheaper for them and much more useful for us.

I'm very sorry for your loss and that bad weather. I do appreciate your honesty and please, always let we crocheters know about gimmicks. I do not like outside feeding yarn. I probably would have given up before the hat was made, lol. I do like Caron yarns and probably use them predominantly, because they are readily available in my area. Good review! Take care. 🙂👍

It seems just as easy to work with a skein. I've never really gotten tangles that couldn't be easily removed. I do think you're absolutely right; a tab at the beginning (center pull) needs a tab so it can easily be found and started without a mess!!! Fabulous idea❣ I'm sorry about your recent loss. Guess what yarn won’t be on my needles??? I like the Carron yarns but this is definitely a gimmick. Watch for the clearance on it.

Thank you so much for this review. I agree that this looks very difficult to work with. Yes,all of us just want a center pull tab. I'm fairly sure it would have been much cheaper to add a center pull tab to the yarn instead of creating this monstrosity.

It’s been 2 yrs since your review and I found these at my Ollies store for $4. That’s the only reason I bought it. I had same trouble with first hat with it being cumbersome to deal with. I enjoy taking the colors apart in individual balls and controlling my stripes. But once I use up the yarn I probably wouldn’t buy it again.

I just bought this halo and couldn't wait to crochet something, anything! I am so disappointed ... the yarn itself it gorgeous, I can't deal with this halo thing. I thought it would transition from light to dark to make a lovely hat. But no, only one color is used at a time. So I separated the halo colors and figure out what amazing items can make from this amazing yarn. (8 oz. halo, #5 wt., graphite frost)

I love the hat and wish you could show how you did this pattern (for a friend) since, I don’t crochet. Nevertheless, LOVE - LOVE - LOVE your videos. Plus, I thought it was gimmicky as well. I had heard that the purpose of this yarn was not to knot up as you use, but also no knots/tight on's (so not cool, and also at this price) Not good! Thank you for sharing this and trying it out :)

I just purchased 5 rolls (????) of this stuff and I hate it. The yarn is so stiff and actually hurt my fingers to work with it. I was trying to make a blanket and it was stiff as a board. I DID find the concept of no yarn barf a great thing! And I didn't mind the way it unravels. But my issue is with the quality of the yarn. Sorry folks, not for me.
