My cousin had a 65 with the 289 high performance in it. I dream of having one. That car is a dream. We had some great times driving to high school in it. The best was racing cars on state street in Salt Lake. Sleeper is right. He could just downshift and be gone. I was so upset when he sold it. He let it go for $4,000 in the 90’s.

I had a friend when I was in high school that had a 65 coupe also in burgundy and black interior. I'm sure that if he actually appreciated what he had he would have treated that car alot better. Did alot of running around in that car with our little group of friends. Many many quarter barrels of Miller Highlife were put in the trunk of that Mustang. lol Great memories.

I had a Vintage Burgundy 66 FORD Mustang Coupe with Black interior back in High School, that I had repainted Royal Blue Metallic Color and Shelby GT350 White Rocker Strips!...Overall I fixed it up into a 66 Shelby GT350 Coupe version! If I was to do it again today in 2020, I would use the Drivetrain from a wrecked or used 2020 Shelby GT500 or a 2018+ S550 Mustang GT Premium Platform including the IRS, Interior and the 7sp TDC or the 10R80 10sp Auto Trans with Paddle Shift! It would be my Daily Driver, A Modern Day 66 Shelby GT350 Coupe version with a Whipple S/C!...I am Just Saying!...I Got a Need for Speed!...God Bless America! 😇

You should do it! I had my 1965 coupe converted to a fastback. Sometimes I wish I would have kept it as a couple because it's been slow process....

This makes me happy and sad at the same time. I had a 1965 6 cylinder Vintage Burgundy coupe just like this. Had restored it for 3 years and someone ran into the front of it on the driver's side and went down the whole side of the car. Bent the front headlight all they way down into the bumper. Car was a total loss. What a beauty this is...

Actually, I think this coupe design will become more popular as modern cars from Mustangs to Mazdas continue with the rounded "fastback" look.

FINALLY!...Someone has Built a Replica Coupe Mustang!...I had a 66 Ford Mustang Coupe in Vintage Burgundy with Black Interior while in High School and I fixed it up into a 66 Shelby GT350 Coupe! So is this a One Off or are you going to start Building Coupe Models Replica Mustangs now?...I am Just Saying!...Thanks and God Bless! 😇

@@plstewaf3 The total price then is $17500 not $2500. Not sure how you got to the latter. For $17500 you can certainly find a car that is faster, handles better and is more reliable.

I want to reply in their defence, even thought I totally understand what you mean. I have a fully restored 65 A Code Fastback in lovely condition. I drive her on the weekends and enjoy the soul, as you say. It means a lot. I understand "soul". That said, if I had to drive her every day, "soul" would quickly become tedious. It's an old car. These represent old looks - but in a way that at least gets them out on the road as a daily. I'm not 'for' this sort of thing, but I'm not 'against' it either, once you understand and accept that time has moved on. It's a big step.
