Love the video! Little correction from a fellow font nerd: - *Kerning* is the space between _two individual letters_ (e.g. if the lines of the letters AV are to close to / far from each other) - *Tracking* or *spacing* is the space between _all letters_ in a word and is what you mean when you're talking about the Cold Island title.

I’m also a geek about typography and branding! Being relatively new to film making and while I adjust to my learning curves with lighting, color correcting / grading, exposure etc. I’ve really leaned on my strengths as a designer and music producer to help present a more professional video as I’m learning and growing. I’ve discovered your channel pretty recently, and I always appreciate the videos and your keen sense of design and branding amongst the myriad of other talents you share with us. I have been quarantined alone since this whole hoopla has been in place so finding friends and companions in vlogs like yours has helped me thoroughly. Endless thank yous. I just realised why I love your videos so much. They are uniquely Becki and Chris. I know its a Becki and Chris video when I see it. The videos are always dark / moody-ish, but somehow they are immaculately lit. I've no idea how you do it, but it's actually insane. I guess a good comparison will be like... Er. If mkbhd's videos are always bright and and perfectly shot, your videos are always dark (ish) and perfectly shot. You're like the dark(er) version of mkbhd. I've no idea what I'm saying, you guys are inspiring and amazing. Thanks for the amazing content as always XD

Hi Becki, I liked your video. I do have a small correction which I hope you won’t mind. When referring to the overall space between characters in words and sentences, and either condensing them or spreading them out, the correct term is: “tracking” not “kerning”. “Kerning” refers to adjusting a space between two characters only and is used when tweaking or fine tuning that space in relation to the overall spacing of all the characters. This is typically done to titles when there is an optical issue with the space between two characters being a bit too close or too distant to each other making the word look uneven. When you adjust the overall space of all the text in a word or sentence even when using automatically adjusted proportional fonts, it is called: “tracking”.

Thank you both Becky and Chris for all that you have done for me. Becky you have shown me lighting and editing tricks that I use while I make content for the gram and KZbin (I lowkey have been slacking). You’re personality is so infectious I love it. Chris thank you for being an intervenaial radiologist. About a year ago my grandmother was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer she is a rare case where she has the aggressive form of this cancer. She has been in and out of the hospital and as of Friday she has been in the hospital during this pandemic because she fell. It is very nerve racking not being able to see her. However, I found comfort when I was on the phone with a doctor who was an intervenaial radiologist who was explaining the procedure he was going to preform. I found comfort knowing how hard Chris works and how he is always on the move learning more and more each day. I have been on the fence about pursuing medicine and I made my final decision to after that phone call. I will be pursuing medicine in order to provide that same comfort I felt to others. I appreciate you both for the sacrifices you both have made during this time in the world. I love your videos keep up the great work!

Becki bringing the HEAT in this one... I’ve been trying hard to bring my production value up. Been working on sound, putting music in and trying to get the right balance. Backlights with gels and a light on top of my camera. Well Still needs work. I’ve been phoning it in on the fonts though, thanks for this. I need to watch it again and take notes. I need to find a good DIY lighting video with equipment from Home Depot or amazon, something under $200 or even better under $100. All of that being said if you can’t tell a good story all of this is lost on the audience, you two do a fantastic job of that. Thanks.

100% on audio. This is what I do for a living and hearing terrible audio in videos takes you right out of whatever you're watching. Also, if you're trying to make money by doing videos for businesses, having terrible audio and knowing how to color grade are two of the things that set amateurs apart from pros. I see so many people buy a DSLR and start a video business and they're the "natural light photographers" of the video industry. Learn about lighting and audio like Becki says. There's tons of great info out there.
