Think about what made the original a hit before you go crazy layering endless tracks. 😂

Make it your own. When I make covers myself, I actually try to reverse engineer it, as a learning tool, to try and get the parts, the tones, the mix to be as close as possible. It's a great exercise. I have a bunch on my channel with different levels of production.

I absolutely love the track and Fernando's committal to printing effects. I think more people need to have a vision and make those decisions. Louise is such a lovely person, I like that it's just two friends reminiscing and having a chat. Thanks, Warren.

BIG TAKE AWAY! Double the tambourine!?!?. That's awesome. Tams are such an overpowering instrument (sometimes) I would not have though "ok, let's double it" but doubling and then going L/R as a "tickle" might really smooth them out. I must remember this.
@Producelikeapro2 жыл бұрын
Agreed, adds a huge amount of movement

Great interview on an interesting topic. I have been putting together a concept of inviting bands in my area to record tributes of certain artists and produce an album of the best tracks; say an album tribute to CCR, or Fleetwood Mac, or various best songs of the 70's. Good for the original artist, good for them, good for me, good for the listeners, maybe even good for sync placements..! Love your channel Warren!

I wish you would have talked about how you release cover songs without getting copywrite hit? Ive heard you can do a rights share for certain artists if you want to cover them on youtube?
@Producelikeapro2 жыл бұрын
On KZbin they will immediately split the income between you and the artist.

Every song that Matt Berry writes for any of his telly shows sounds, to varying extents, like an out-of-tune version of this song.
