I like to use water to know when the stainless steel is non stick. When you put water in the pan with no oil and it forms beads and doesn’t cook off straight away, it’s nonstick and has heated up thoroughly

Depression can make everything seem dark and hopeless, but I want to remind you Soph that there is light, even on the cloudiest of days. Your worth is not measured by how you feel right now. You are valuable and deserve care, love and compassion. Sometimes just getting out of bed is a victory, and every small step you take toward self-care and recovery is meaningful. Allow yourself to feel what you are feeling without judging yourself. It's completely okay to feel sad, exhausted, or overwhelmed. Acknowledging these feelings is the first step toward healing. I admire you a lot Soph, you are a great youtuber

Stainless steel tip: whenever I burn something onto my pots or pans I scrub it with baking soda! Helps get the burnt part off

I’ve watched your videos on and off for a while and don’t normally comment but on the note of life after getting diagnosed with a chronic illness , a big part for me was watching the language i use while talking about myself. I realized how much our societies’s views on chronic illness impacted the way I view my own self worth/ esteem. I was diagnosed with a genetic disease at 18 and a heart condition that’s a complication of the disease at 19. While life is definitely different after diagnosis you do eventually begin to appreciate the good days so much more. You become more appreciative for how hard your body works for you and you stop taking being young for granted. Sending lots of love your way 🫶🏻🫶🏻

Self acknowledgement of any phase we go through is vital. Yes. The difference between those that live and stay in depression and those that create a different self is simply actions taken to cope with it. Depression is real. Scientifically understood. So, we take actions. Taking actions can be a pain for a few months but it becomes a delicious habit.

stainless steel pots and pans are great! I have a set of All-Clad and keeping them nice is important to me. make sure to use enough oil. that is key for the food to not stick. before flipping the food, make sure it cooks long enough and forms a nice crispiness (if that's what you're going for). it should release from the pan with ease with enough oil & the proper heat. barkeepers friend (the powder) is an amazing scrub cleanser for anything that is burnt on. I really advise you to make sure you clean your pans until they look brand new. they should very rarely stain. I also keep some steel wool around for the really tough spots. I went to culinary school and my chef instructors would check every single pan after we cleaned them so I've had a lot of stainless steel pan scrubbing experience. best of luck!

hii, i just want to say ur soo not alone in having pushed people away during a dark time. it's taken years and years but im finally in a better place so i've recently become overwhelmed with grief over those that i distanced myself from in a state of major self sabotage. it's hard to navigate - some relationships have room for rekindling while others might not, and while that's unfortunate, i hope you can give yourself some grace either way. you deserve self compassion - the world will not always be gentle, but we can always try our best to be gentle with ourselves. you do the best you can in any given moment and it's not always perfect and that's ok even if it feels like it's not!
