Yes, Pantene is a great product. I use the 'Pantene hydrating glow sulfate free Conditioner' as a leave in, on my waist length hair and at 75 y/o (yikes!) it makes for luxurious locks. I have also found that brushing less often is better. Love your advice and thank you!

I once lived in an apartment (that was fairly new construction actually) where I got terrible mineral buildup gunk in my hair that would not come out. I did some research and I found a well water shampoo at Sally Beauty, and started rinsing it with distilled water which took care of the problem. Once I moved, I never had the problem again. No idea why the water there was so ridiculously hard.

Thanks for this info. It appears that Pantene has updated the clear bottle (to white) and also updated the formulation; which I hope is even better than the previous one, which I never got to try. This revelation comes at the perfect time, as my previous favourite (hydrating) shampoo no longer seems to be suitable. Since starting HRT...my below shoulder length, very straight hair becomes very oily quickly (esp. at the roots) and lanky, just like it did when I was a teenager! My hair is OK for a couple of days just after I've lightened my roots, but as my hair grows it becomes oilier faster. That's why your recommendation sounds perfect, as I don't want a clarifying shampoo that strips my hair to straw, as TRESemme did a while back 😫. BTW, do you also use the matching conditioner? 👱❤️

I love the Pantene volume. I have tried several of Abby’s other clarifying recs (just splurged on the k18, Oribe and L’Oréal professional ones during the last Amazon prime sale) and Pantene is THE most clarifying. Nada it will probably turn your hair to straw if you use it every time. It’s great for a once a week purge to remove all product. Dove clarifying is really nice for an every day clean. There’s a L’Oréal clarifying in a blue bottle, ever clean maybe? that would work for that too. Don’t know about the matching Pantene conditioner. I use as moisturizing a conditioner as I can find, so no volume conditioners.

I've gone back to Pantene and my hair has not looked this good since I was in my mid 20s (I'm 34 now). I think even just 2 years ago I had spent over $500 in a year on luxury shampoos and conditioners desperate for something to make my hair not look and feel horrible. After a year of switching back to the Pantene my scalp and hair are feeling amazing again. Also, with those high end shampoos my scalp psoriasis was beyond out of control. And the President had us bring in samples of your water some used faucet water, rainwater, store bought water and all the chemistry was so different in all the samples. So yes sure thing water was totally different. We are an area that a lot of people move to from other states. Dr Dray has videos on hair/scalp serums. She has a short saying to stop wasting your money on them (unless it's minoxidil which is the only one clinically proven to work).
