God, this song brings back memories. Reminds of when i first fell in love with hip hop (Protect Ya Neck!). I admire how Joey adopted the raspy tone (reminds me of Das Efx), adds onto the vintage feel. Joey doesn't claim to have pioneered his style of rap, but is rather reviving what he feels is lost. Hip hop never died, but certain elements it once had receded to the underground, until now that is. Hip hop music doesn't always have to bombard you with complex syllabication and intricate metaphors. Sometimes its the vibes. Enjoy them.

What’s funny is I’m 23 rn and as a kid when this came out I was 13 and when I would click on the song multiple times I would not like it but coming back to it years after I found like a appreciation for his style the instrumental, his flow, his bars and now I listen to it a lot what I’m saying is his style was ahead of it’s time when I first heard it
