This is a very sound submission by the professor. However, there is a conceptual gap which I think needs to be addressed. This is the concept of “the people”. Who are the people? Who should define “the people”? Is it possible to have a system that satisfies “the people”? I strongly agree with all the submissions by the prof but I feel the validity of those conclusions still rests on how we define “the people”

I think “the people” would refer to the citizens and to some extent inhabitants of the state.
