I am complete noob when it comes to animating and storyboards. Is it possible that we might get a tutorial about animating a simple reaction and how to figure out the movement in between the start point and the end point? I apologize from struggling to explain about this. I'm more of a visual learner. It would be easier to show what I mean

This is also hard for me to explain in words alone but this is from my experience as an animator. I'll give you some terms for studying purposes and then I'll tackle what entails animating a believable reaction in a character. "Storyboards" usually only show the most important changes that happen in scenes throughout the script. "Key frames" are the most important key movements that a subject makes within the animation. "Animatic" is a type of animation comprised of only Key frames and maybe a few breakdowns where necessary. "Breakdowns" are sort of like Sub-Key frames, they show changes in movement that happen where Key frames aren't. "Inbetweens" are the frames between breakdowns and key frames that make for smooth luxurious animation. A believable reaction in a character contains a few motions that are also dependent on the setting and context of the character and scene. First, the character processes that something has happened. Second, the character subconsciously reacts to it. Third, the character reacts or takes action in a way appropriate to their personality and of the situation. For all of this there might only be two key frames, one at the start of the scene and one at the peak of the reaction. But breakdowns will be both between key frames, other breakdowns, and even after or before key frames when necessary. The latter is especially true when it comes to motions involving anticipation or extremes. Hopefully this information comes of some use to you and others, if you pursue animation I only wish you the best.

How you practice is very important too and I see it usually goes unmentioned. How much are you thinking about what you're doing as you draw? If you're practicing from reference, are you mentally studying as you go? Or are you just copying what you see and only thinking about how close you can get it to look? These are very important questions that inspiring artists should ask themselves. Also reviewing and revising your own practice drawings are almost as important for building up mental habits. I hope this helps people.

You are using PS in all of your videos. So, is it possible to use photoshop for all animation work? (I do animation for indie games and feel like there is not enoug of some features but largely got away with it).

We are only using photoshop to design the initial artwork. our actual animation is done in either Flash, or TV paint. or sometime we composite in after effects. Photoshop is not strong enough to animate exclusively in. Our channel is primarily drawing focused though so we tend to highlight photoshop the most
