I'm drawing a piece that is using one point perspective for the background and a 2 point perspective for the character. It was a major pain in the a** making the guidelines for those perspective. This will help me tremendously. Thank you!

interesting. Im always have 2 problems when i draw some backgrounds: 1)the lineart looks ugly, even when i use the same brush and technique for my characters and 2) i notice you choose the color for the objects based on the mood/atmosphere, but what happened when i wanna respect certain color pallet for characters and objects? Nice video, btw

I would love to see a video about doing vehicle turn arounds and tracking details when turning it. We did a vehicle assignment and this video saved me but I had no idea how to turn it in perspective because there were a lot of cylindrical tapering shapes lol

When you say to ideally do 2-3 pages of these, do you mean 2-3 pages for each exercises or just 2-3 pages total and we pick which ones we want to do that day?

You can use an ipad as a secondary monitor and use professional softwares.. so ipad can be a good option for a drawing tablet.. it's easy to draw on screens on a affordable budget rather than drawing on a screen less tablet

as an artist, there’s something about the idea of shape language that always kinda bothers me. I’m on the spectrum, so maybe I’m taking it a little too literally, but I really dislike ‘ shape-based resigns for character clarity’ like at 4:16. I get that it’s a shorthand, and that it’s effective, but is this really something we want to encourage people to do? fiction *is* a reflection of the world around us, and it feels reductive to put, for example, ‘tall, angular looking woman’ in the same box of sexy femme evil powerful lady every time. I don’t think using uncontrolled physical features like that to emphasize *character* traits is a thing artists should strive for. My thought is, when it comes to shape-based silhouettes, maybe just make it more choice-based from the character, which not only gives an opportunity to expand the character’s inner world, but still effectively communicates the message. it can be someone who’s a dark evil femme woman, but she could still be short, have rounded hips and facial features and lips, but maybe instead, her silhouette is still dangerous because features like clothing, piercings, or hats are able to communicate the message. it’s a little bit of a confusing opinion even within my own head, because I understand shape language is more for clarity than anything, but it makes me sad when characters get reduced to their design, because I much prefer to see what they *choose* to look like and present as aligning with their personality traits. give me small and seductive+evil, tall and feminine+gentil, bulky muscles and glasses because they’re a bookworm, etc. I’d love to know other artists thoughts on this and if anyone else feels like classic body shape language can be reductive in some ways, or if anyone has a different perspective and would like to shed light on it for me!!
