Wish I found this sooner. as someone who is planning to apply for game design. I am content with how I draw from paper. but I have no clue how to use software and such. which is frustrating when drawing as I cannot manipulate these tools to my advantage. The first tutorial which actually demonstrates these simple tools which many amateurs such as myself easily don't see. which more experienced artists take that knowledge as a common fact Video is of very high quality from cinematography to editing. feels like I should be paying for this service. May I mention how this has no ads. seriously these people have pretty good intentions

No, we LOVE it! (also co-worker) Sometimes artists from different areas don't always see or completely understand what their co-workers in other departments are doing, or how they do it. But we all have a tremendous respect for each other. It's cool to see what the "other side" does all day and how they do it! I'm a storyboard artist, so I get to see my quick, crappy drawings turned into beautiful designs by these awesome designers, which you (the viewers) get to enjoy onscreen!

Great tutorial. But at 4:06 - "they worked in non-air conditioned rooms" ... at the Disney Studio (which is the footage you show at 3:59 - 4:12) the Ink & Paint Dept. did have air conditioning ... in fact , the ONLY dept. that had air conditioning at the old Disney Hyperion Ave. studio was the Ink & Paint Dept. Then , later when Disney moved to the new studio building in Burbank the whole studio had air conditioning. I would tend to think that at other studios if there was any air conditioning at all it was for the Ink & Paint Dept. because the humidity and temperature needs to be controlled to have the paint adhere properly to the cels and keep non-painted cels from sticking together.

But I think that young artists are changing everyday and I think that I can do this art stuff. My dad is an art student in college and both of my parents are becoming teachers in different types of categories anyway, I just wanted to say thank you. That’s all I wanted to say.

I learned a lot from this video but I think the most valuable thing to me is the cartoon-ifying stage. The one where you draw characters multiple times until they look like they are in same style. This will be good for quick animations I would like to do!

That gas station looks like something I’d see in my dreams. The bending palm tree, angled gas hanger, and oddly square building makes it look so surreal
