Hi @ArtBusinesswithNess :) thank you for sharing this video and review! I bought the Epson WF-7830 after finding your review, which is just the model above (the 7820 is no longer being sold now). I was hoping to ask you for some advice about the printing quality/color accuracy when you use your Epson for art prints. There is quite a big difference in the colour between what is shown in the monitor and what comes out of the printer, I understand this may be because of RGB vs CMYK, but I’m not an expert on this so my question is - what can be done so that the print matches the original/scanned as much as possible? I am an amateur watercolor artist and also an artisan, and I’ve been wanting to include the artwork of my paintings in my arts & crafts collection, in the form of prints, postcards, gift cards, etc. But my first tests have all come out so different from what I originally painted color wise, I’m a bit deflated. Any help would be so appreciated. Thank you!! 💛
@ArtBusinesswithNess9 ай бұрын
@@onehearthlove So you do have to set the color profile to CMYK, and then make adjustments so the scan is closest to the original. When the colors of the print are very different (too dark, too light, etc) it's often because your computer monitor is not well calibrated. For example, if your screen brightness is maxed out, your colors may be too dark but your don't notice because your screen is so bright. I would suggest to make adjustments to your screen until it matches better. It's a trial and error process!
@onehearthlove9 ай бұрын
@@ArtBusinesswithNess thank you so much for the quick and helpful answer! That makes sense. In my case, the scanned version that shows on the screen is very similar to the real painting, but then the print comes out with much brighter/lighter colours. I understand it’s necessary to convert to CMYK in the editing software, and hopefully I will figure out how to adjust the colours to be able to print as realistic as possible. I will keep trying. Thank you!! 🙏🏼🌟

I just got mine and I wanted to add something: it prints on 140# watercolor paper (I use Arches)! I absolutely love this feature because hand transferring my highly detailed sketches from my sketchbook to my painting surface has been an absolute pain; I often procrastinate painting for that very reason. So now I can print my sketches directly onto my watercolor paper and get started painting immediately! It also means that, if I need to re-do a painting for some reason, I don't have to stress about it like I have in the past, because I won't need to spend 2 hours hand transferring my sketch again. I'm so excited about this printer! And the scanner is unbelievable - I seriously can't believe the quality of the scans it's done of my artwork.

Thats exactly what im looking to do as well! I was really hoping this printer could print on that type of watercolour paper, im happy to hear it does! Did you print on with while loading the paper into the front tray?
@AmberwingArt2 жыл бұрын
@@alyj6381 No, I load mine into the back tray because it lets you adjust the tray to fit the paper and I print on 11"x14" paper usually. I'm not sure if the top tray would accomodate larger sized papers...
@alyj63812 жыл бұрын
@@AmberwingArt Ohh i see, i usually do smaller sizes, do you think smaller sized papers would do fine in the front load trays?
@AmberwingArt2 жыл бұрын
@@alyj6381 I haven't tried the thicker paper there, so I don't know if there might be an issue with that, but as far as inch/ml sizing, yes, they do fine there. Is there a reason that you don't want to use the back tray? It can be adjusted to accept everything from envelope size up to 11"x17" and it accepts the thick papers...
@alyj63812 жыл бұрын
@@AmberwingArt well i dont have the printer yet, i am deciding between this model and the model below it (which does not include a back tray, but is much more affordable) So my thinking was, if the thicker paper can go through the front just fine then theres no need for me to spend more money to get the printer with a back tray. if that makes sense!

This is the first review on the internet where the scanner quality was actually evaluated. It is very valuable information, thank you very much for your efforts! I have one question though: does the scanner lid allow it to elevate itself a bit? It would help with thicker originals like books.
@ArtBusinesswithNess3 жыл бұрын
I am glad you found it helpful! The top does elevate a tiny bit, but not too much. I was able to scan a drawing board (half a centimeter) with the lid closing on it perfectly. However anything bigger than that or uneven like a book and the lid might not close at all on it. It could still be possible to get a good scan quality by turning off the lights in the room or putting a blanket on top though.

I just ordered mine a couple of days ago from Staples and it should be ready for pickup today. I almost compromised and went for a cheaper printer that would only print or scan up to legal size, but I knew in my heart I would regret not being able to scan or print poster size images for my small karaoke side business and for little fun projects. So I reached deeper into my wallet and invested a little more to get this. The positive reviews, such as yours and others, reaffirms I made the right choice. I can't wait to pick it up today and give it a go. Thanks for taking the time to post a video review.

I'm thinking about buying this printer. Is it easy to transfer pictures to print without a san disk slot? Or does it have one?
@ArtBusinesswithNess Жыл бұрын
I do not see a slot - you can send the pictures directly to the printer through the wifi if you took the photos on a device that has wifi. Otherwise, you can transfer the photos to a computer and then print them from your computer.

Hi! I’m from Montreal too 😊 (though I moved away). I personally activated the wifi on the printer and installed the scanning software on my computer. Then I just start the scanner from my computer. It is annoying that the wifi needs to be reconnected on it every time the power goes out.. but apart from that it works without issue. I hope that helps!

I have considered the one you bought but I have already a scanner, so I'm looking for monotask Epson printer for eventually print my own prints. Also considering if I should print in a print lab and keep this money for buying and iPad :) Let us know your review if this could work for professional prints by the time your try it. :) thank you Ness
@ArtBusinesswithNess3 жыл бұрын
I hear that Epson scanners are really great! The Perfection V550 is entry level (like my old Canon Lide) but seems to be much better quality compared to the Canon! If you're just starting with prints, I really recommend print on demand (Printful, Printify, etc) so you don't have to carry an inventory at first. It would give you a chance to see if your prints are selling and if so, which ones! Then if/when things are going well, buying a printer and starting to print them yourself to reduce production costs will be a very easy decision.

Hey Ness ! Nice video ! 😊
@ArtBusinesswithNess3 жыл бұрын
