I've used this recipe for decades, its from my old Betty Crocker cook book :) It's my go to cookie recipe, and I flavor it with vanilla and almond extract.

So far I have made your Christmas Holiday Fruit Cake, the Raspberry Linzer cookies, and the Apricot Lemon Rugelach (no apricot jam handy, so I substituted my own lemon marmalade). Hey Anna I made this recipe tonight.. chilling in the freezer until next week! Easy ! I made gingerbread last week and the flour I used was different and made them impossible to roll out, so I grated it and made it into a bar cook like yours.. I used a cream cheese filling.. turned out Grate😉☺️ thanks for the tip❤️
