"Why so farrrr????" 1. Because there are already videos scheduled. I post K-Pop reaction videos on Monday and Wednesday only. This gives me an opportunity to share the other content i'm passionate about for this channel. 2. Releasing content like this allows me to keep the channel consistent and focus on other projects other than trying to keep a daily youtube schedule since I run two businesses. It's all a part of my quarterly releases. Which you can see here: airtable.com/shrkUSn8a34srUFLh. (Patrons get access to the master lists, and early releases) 3. Traditional studios and movies promote their content months in advance prior to the premiere to help build anticipation. The public already knows the date of when these movies are coming out. I know I'm no big-time studio, but why can't I take a similar approach to my content? Want early access to content? Become a patron! patreon.com/emeroyb

You made a comment about wondering where they were in their journey at this point, and this was their debut song! They’ve also said that it remains the hardest choreography they’ve ever done just because of the lack of down time to catch their breath, so the fact that they sing live through the whole thing is crazy impressive!

TO BE CLEAR : 5 of those girls had been performing as Minx for almost three years. They had experience in the spotlight .

As everyone said - this was not much longer after their debut. (Also fun fact: the one that almost lost her balance - she had just graduated from high school or was about to in the next few days.) They basically jumped at any performance they could do just to get their name out there, to get people to recognize them and what they sounded like. They did busking, they did mall shows, they did everything they could. You said that this feels like an anime intro multiple times - it's supposed to give you that feel musically. They really took inspiration from J-pop and J-rock in their early tracks. Even their stage outfits told a story; that short style of robe is called a yukata in Japan and if you notice the way they have it closed - it's right over left, and in Japan, you only do that for the dead. (Again, I know this is Korea, but since they took such heavy inspiration from Japanese music, I figure it's fair game.) As soon as I saw the outfits, it immediately clued me into the fact that they were portraying ghosts or spirits, which could also explain a lot of the traveling motions along with the reveals. What do poltergeists do? They travel through walls, they suddenly appear, they can grab someone's hair... The lyrics themselves where they're repeating 'chase me' and flitting through someone's dreams is also part of that same story.

Wow that’s an informative post. I didn’t know about the busking at malls, or the spirit clothing. At this point, 5 of those girls had been performing as Minx for three years. They had experience in the spotlight .

This was their debut era. They come from a small company so they used to go to a lot of mall shows, events like this, or at parks, anything to get their name out. I agree with you on the "pulling out all stops" because this was their debut so I guess they wanted to show people what they were made of.

DC mentioned once this was one of their most cardio-intensive dances. 80% of the song is spent running in sync, and in stages, they have to do it while singing with stability as well.
@siyeonswife2 жыл бұрын
this is their most intense choreo (according to them), and yet its their most synchronized & despite it being their DEBUT

Haven't seen this performance video before. It reminds me of the kind of crap they had to put up with when they were performing as Minx. Shopping Malls, sports fields, racetracks, public parks, they were everywhere dancing their hearts out while people around them were oblivious. Gahyeon, girl who almost fell, was one of two new members added to the original 5 Minx members to make up Dreamcatcher. She was a noob, but kept up very well with the original members who had been performing for two years at this point. Handong, the other new member, had received a lot of dance training in China before going to Korea so she fit right in immediately.

Didn’t they also cut Gahyeon’s training short so she could debut? I think that’s what I remember. Which means she had the least amount of dance and vocal training. So the fact that she could even preform this well says a lot about her.

@@guavee she's not fnc trainee, she used to go to fnc academy as a student there. Both are different. Her official trainee begun at happy face entertainment (now as DCC) so yeah her training period is short, only 6 months which is amazing as we can see her growth from debut till now
@electrictroy20102 жыл бұрын
Yep Gahyeon was just a baby dancer. Still in high school and only 17 years at debut .

dreamcatcher \:D/ they were giving it their all, no doubt about that. this was early not long after their debut which was a re-debut from a failed group so this was a second chance to 'catch' their dreams for 5 of the members. their story is really unheard of in kpop where there are no second chances for a whole group. of course when they actually have to sing, the energy is a little less intense than the dance practice and they didn't take the easy route of using hands free mics :D

There’s been several groups that changed their name & redebuted. Not a lot but certainly more than one
@ivyshy982 жыл бұрын
@@electrictroy2010 under the same company? from a failed group? yes I know some groups have changed companies and thus changed names therefore 'redebuting' but those were mostly successful groups that had some kind of issue with their previous company. I can't think of a company that bet on the same people who had already failed. that's the difference.

"Chase me" incredible song and choreography, and it's debut!! Now with your analysis I realize what I like so much about the dancing! The constant position changes go very well with the song, it is very energetic and feels like running... Dreamcatcher since their debut have grown a lot (mostly internationally) and I hope they continue to do so. ♡

Something I noticed that I'm not sure if many people picked up on but their arm movements in the performance weren't as dynamic. I'm almost certain it was because they had to hold mics. Anyone who has had to dance with a mic in their hand (me for example) could tell you that those things are slippery

Hello Emeroy, greetings from Canada... Seems like a Volleyball Tournament half-time show... Now that they're very well known internationally, why not the Super Bowl half-time show, why not?
@nekograce79142 жыл бұрын
Their stage performances from the music shows were much better. Plus you get a better idea of how draining this choreography was, you can hear it in their vocals. The vocals are still good, but they actually sound winded.
