I have the Pro 5 Plus, and it just died today (had it over 10, but rarely used it) and came to the web to figure out why it won't it turn on. Now that I'm listening to this one made me realize i may have gotten a faulty mixer from the start. It is not as loud, but sounds very similar so i thought what i was hearing was normal. I asked a few other friends who owned one, and everyone said it was nothing to worry about. I should've just followed my gut. I'm so glad i came across your channel. Definitely going to give repairing it a try. Thanks for sharing your knowledge! 😊

A little grease on the roller thrust bearing will make it last longer. :). It won’t like being run dry for long.

Started drawing out the circuit for the speed control board. It really is about as simple as you can make it, just a TRIAC circuit. This works because these machines use universal motors so they aren't locked to the the frequency of the AC they get, unlike induction motors. (side note, it is surprising that the DC motor models don't use BLDC motors since those don't _have_ brushes to wear out and BLDC controllers are stuuuupid cheap, but anyway...)

Hello @Mr. Mixer, I have a Black KitchenAid Professional HD it's been with me for over 10 years already thanks to your videos I'm more confident to do maintenance. I plan to order parts from your store however upon browsing the parts it does not specify if it is applicable to my Professional HD. So my question is.. Are the Pro 5 Plus parts in your store also can be use to replace parts of my KitchenAid Professional HD ? I hope to hear from you soon. Thank you in advance.

I have a funny situation with a kitchenaid pro model I picked up at a flea market. when you plug it in, it works as expected… however when you touch any of the housing, it’s actually live and zaps you pretty mean. Took it apart, but I cant find where this comes from? Also hard to find any info on this online - perhaps you have any pointers?

I have recently bought a KSM70 (New Zealand market) as I'm going a lot of sourdough bread and pizza dough. My question, to anyone that might know, is how do you know if you are over doing it?.....The KSM has been advertised by KA, as being able to handle 4kg of bread dough (with an asterisk)....but I feel like it's already making noises that might suggest that it is struggling at 1.4kg (65% hydration). I want to keep this mixer going for a long time without stripping the worm drive gear....has anyone pushed it to the point of failure and what was it that pushed it over the edge? how many KGs broke the camel's back? :) Thanks!

Our pro mixer planetary drops down about an 1/8th of an inch and leaves a gap between the gear and the housing What do you think has worn out?
@MrRyankershner28 күн бұрын
The shaft is coming out of the housing on the planetary. Take the planetary off and you can tap it in some more with a hammer. Use some towels to avoid scratching the paint.

Hello, I have a Kitchen Aid model 4 no other numbers other than model 4. It looks exactly like the one in your opening shot the mixer 4th from the left. I believe it is a 1950s era model the serial # is 569979. The worm gear is worn and needs to be replaced or at least the one gear is damaged. I can't find the parts for this old of a mixer. Can you help please!

So my planetary has about an eighth of an inch play up and down is that normal?? Im not talking about the body just the planetary. Ours is only 3-4 years old and I just bought the bundle you have on the website with the spring, handle and everdime. But I’m wondering if I already need to repair it.

It really just depends on the individual person and how much sentimental value their mixer has. Some of these machines are passed down through the generations, and being able to restore them means a lot to some people!
