Good morning (it's 6:50 am here) Pointing the lights strait up - game changer!
@Animatortor4 жыл бұрын
Oh wow, thank you for watching this so early 😍 Honestly, it makes such a difference bouncing off the ceiling!! And if you compensate with camera settings you can still get an adequately bright shot with that alone 👌🏻😊

Nice nice, I also point my lights up, works great for my set up

Another informative video, I've been using 3 desk lamps, didn't think to point them at the ceiling or walls, even though I do it when I'm using off camera flashes. Never too old to learn, keep up the good work

Glad it was helpful :) Desk lamps are great too!! Haha, yeah, bounce that light Norman. I hope your little animations are going well and that you are keeping well too. Thanks again for all your support

I will get there!! I'm so sorry it isn't made yet. Skillshare got involved with the process and it all slowed down as everything needed approval. I'll announce on the community tab when it is live (hopefully this year) thanks for your patience :)

Do you recommend the same lights for 2023? Thank you 🙏🏻
@Animatortor Жыл бұрын
There are infinite lighting options available but I still use these to light my scenes. If you want smaller but still bright lights aperture ones are good too but often more expensive. I find the LED panels work for my needs👌🏻

many thanks for your reply@@Animatortor , Could you give me examples of what those smaller bright lights?🙏🙏
@Animatortor Жыл бұрын
@sn60wf kzbin.infowydPeVwekH4 - these are the lights I mean... they are much smaller and can be placed around your set if you need light through a window etc as well

And again a helpfull tutorial ;) Can you also make a tutorials about background and undergrounds? Or just give some tips? cause im using my wooden table for now and it doesnt looks that smooth and professional as i wish them to be.
@Animatortor4 жыл бұрын
Thank you 😊Yeah, of course, I will try to do that soon. I am actually making a set today for a piece I am making... mainly using card. A1 sheets of coloured card can be really good. Or you can buy sheets of wood and cut to fit table top, paint them, and you have multiple different table top options 😎I will make a video though too

I was racing in the door to look at my phone notifications! ANIMATORTOR UPLOADED!!!!! 😀😁😄😆. Ow I only have one light but it is a very strong light do you think that's ok? I have one of those studio LED one's. Not like your but they are a bit different ( very strong). Thanks so much for the helpfull tips. And how are you doing with the compotion??? 📽🎬📸
@Animatortor4 жыл бұрын
Haha, you're the best!! 😁 Yeah, one light can work, you can still play around with bouncing the light off walls/ceiling too. I always say use what you have to begin with. My first year of animating I just had a desk lamp. You're more than welcome on the tips 😊 I have been working on the competition entry today, and am going to be solidly working on it until Wednesday, so hopefully it will be up on the channel next week. Deadline is next week, so I have to finish it. Its all going well so far though, thank you for asking 🙂 Hope you're having a good week so far!

I'm still using some hot lights because LED fresnel lights cost so much and I love using fresnels
@Animatortor4 жыл бұрын
I used to use hot lights too, flood lights in fact... they were so hot... but great at lighting things. I got these LED ones about six years ago and I love them. frensels are good too, I agree... something you can save up for :) I always say use what you have got, but when you can upgrade do. How long have you been doing stop motion?

@@Animatortor I've been animating since 2002 and lightning is one of my fav parts but often can't answer people's lower budget light questions as my own light setup is pretty ridiculous. Right now I'm on a deep dive into DMX lighting with Dragonframe which is not really recommended to people who aren't doing freelance regularly or just rich hobbyist.
@Animatortor4 жыл бұрын
You've been animating even longer than me!! I started in 06/07. I can probably learn a lot from you... lighting hasn't been the most enjoyable part for me, I'm learning to enjoy it more though. Your work is incredible - I had a sneaky peak, will comment on some of your vids in a bit, I just love what you are doing. I've not used the DMX lighting with Dragonframe yet, but it is something that I want to explore more soon. I want to do some animations where I have lights in the scene and the tools available in Dragonframe are going to be super useful for that :) Have you made any tutorials? I'll have a hunt through your channel. I love meeting someone that knows way more than me about a specific area. I'll probs be picking your brains when I start playing with lots of Q's :D
