PROFESSIONAL PANHANDLER YELLS "YOU PERVERT", THEN COMES AT ME! | Jason Asselin

Someone told these traveling professional panhandlers that I was filming and exposing them I guess.. It can only be how they came to find out I was there! I was only there for an hour before they figured it out, it might be because I posted it to Facebook to warn others. Might they have a smart phone or did that car at the light point me out?
I am known for confronting these professional panhandlers as I call them, but a few past videos could have ended badly had I stayed to confront them like this one.. Many might come here to see what they do to me or what they try, maybe next time they'll have a better plan but so do I..

I've had rough times where I had to live in low down places and it's crazy how many people there are that pan handled. It was always for drugs. Always. My daughter passed away two years ago from a fentanyl overdose. She made a good portion of her dope money by pan handling. A lot of decent people out there may not realize that the pan handlers next fix was funded by them. I'm in no way speaking negatively about people that "help". They don't know better. I loved my daughter but I hated what she did. I refuse to give money to pan handlers. I just can't do it.

Their panhandling is obviously to support an addiction! Someone needs to give them information on local drug rehab and charities for addicts to help them become recovering addicts. If you want to help without giving cash you can give them information on places that help transients. A lot of cities have charities that help with food, clothing, and a safe place to sleep. If they’re in/near a parking lot of Walmart, you can go in and buy them food, water, dog food, etc and mark out the barcode so they’re can’t just go in and return it. I learned about marking out barcodes after donating clothing items and toys for Christmas for years and being told stuff was returned by the adults! Really aggravated me. One sold every piece of clothing and each pair of shoes I gave them on Facebook. It was for a little girl the school contacted me about who was 13 but was so malnourished she was in a size 7/8 and was wearing a size 1 in shoes when she needed a 3.5! Her toes were infected from wearing shoes that were too small for her for so long!! The mother was a drug addict and decided it was better for her to sell all of her daughters new clothes and shoes so she could buy drugs!! Child services was called after that!!! We just thought they were a struggling family. 😢

Of course I kept filming and then they called the cops on. The cops wanted my id while I was on my yard. He was going to arrest me if I didnt tell him my name. I only gave him my name and nothing else. He want ed my phone number also. The car was off the road in my yard and caught on fire and the lady fell out in the ditch.

Sabisch TruePain I completely agreed with that reply. Where I live, there’s a place called the methadone mile right next to a homeless shelter and a major hospital. The street ppl hold signs asking for help. I donate when I have cash on me and my children say I shouldn’t bc they’re going to buy drugs with it. As I see it, once I donate it becomes theirs to do whatever they want with it. They’re always polite and I appreciate that. That said, if I have groceries with me, I’ll give them fruit, a bottled water or a donut for example. Whatever I have at the moment I’ll donate. On Christmas Day 3 years ago, I stopped at a convenience store. There was a little old man sitting a wheelchair hiding from the bitting cold wind. I welled up with tears and gave him all the cash and change I had. He was so grateful and happy for the couple of bucks I gave him it was the best Christmas I’d had in a very long time! He said he was going across the street to get food at McDonalds. I believe I was supposed to meet him that day and every Christmas I remember him and how wonderful it all was. I wished I could take him home with me but he said politely, thank you but you can’t!

Where I live this is out of control, they jam up intersections and they actually compete with each other for the best locations. Most are in their 20's and 30's and are cleaner than I am while im out working. They all know how to spell and write well. I work with a guy who is related to one of them, he said its mostly drug addicts that have lost everything and really some are homeless. The problem is, they dont want to change, they want money for more dope. instead.

Someone who lives on the street with a dog is with them 24/7. People who live in a house with a dog, leave that dog unoccupied for at least 8-10 hours a day so that they can work. So then, who is being cruel to animals?

@marla andersen he didn't film the entire time that they were out there. Most travelers that I know would feed their dog first before themselves and only be out there for an hour at a time cuz of the dog. The argument can go either way. I agree with you if you can see the bones of the dog protruding from their skin as in indication of malnutrition or you watched them sit out there all day long then it would be animal cruelty. I'm just saying don't be niave enough to believe that you have to have a house in order to provide a dog with a better life. That's like saying your way is the only way. And btw, I have walked by houses with backyards full of 7 or 8 dogs left there outside all day while people go off to work.

You would be correct only at the point to which what he films causes or persuades others to do physical harm to pan handler. It's not illegal period. It's a protected from of freedom of speech under our 1st amendment. If you look up case law Reed vs town of Gilbert or Hawaii Vs Guy the high Court has already ruled that it's protected. Local city ordinances that are unconstitutional are getting repealed every time the ordinances are challenged. As the court justice cited: "just because you can't turn the channel or don't like the advertisement, doesn't mean you can censor the content."

Your story about dropping a big rock on your toe reminded me of the time I was digging around in my freezer about 10 years ago. I was barefoot, and I had a couple of those blue packets ( that you keep frozen & carry in small cooler bags...) stored in the freezer compartment of my fridge. When I was rummaging around for an ice cream sandwich or something....one of those things dropped about 5 feet & landed on top of my foot.
