What i have found is that the only reason to buy pixel phone is for camera. Other then that body and overall design sucks. There are phones that look way better and have good cameras close to pixel

Beautiful video man! Awesome pictures. Just one hint of advise that I don't know if you know or not. Google Pixel 3 camera has "Night Sight" that can still be used even in daylight where you might be in a shady spot or the sun is setting. Not only will it give you more "light", but the dynamic range goes through the roof. Give it a try and let me know your results. I was blown away!

I LOVE taking pictures with my phone. I bought a cool reflex a few month ago but it wasn't for me, it was really cool tho but too much to carry. I wanted an iPhone first but i ended up benchmarking the all internet to find the perfect photo phone and decided to go with the Pixel 3 ! Perfect for taking pictures of my friends (i'm the only one who decided to save some memory of our young years i guess 😂) and the result is always on point ! Really cool video ! I'm feeling stylish to own a Pixel 3 now haha

A very nice and well thought out video. I just purchased the Pixel 3A. I would like to see a video showing how some of the things can be done with the 3A. As an example the cell phone store showed how the phone can change the back ground to white and black but keep your subject in color or vice versa. But I can't remember how that was done so I'd like to see a video with that instruction. Great video!! Best wishes, Duane

You also have the top shot feature in case she had her eyes closed or something like that when you took the picture. Just click on the picture swipe up and it'll show you there's any other recommended photos.

Man...I just read through the comments that had substance, and I am REALLY amazed on how personal and detailed you reply each one of them... massive respect bro.... Now for the video..a camera phone can NEVER replace a smartphone...raw hardware power will always win... Software wise, Google has no competition when it comes to HDR processing... Read a comment about Open Camera, I've used it for years, used it lately with my Note 9 and now with my pixel 3xl, it's a next level thing on the pixel... Lastly, what beginner DSLR and lense would you recommend me to get? I like taking nature orientated pics....😀

duanemcclun I did the IPhone X and xS Have not done anymore yet. I look for cameras that have phones that are also good. Otherwise why not just get a camera.

Yes I have several (too many) cameras (lol) and have been trying to decide if I go to the Pixel 3XL for the better camera but having to learn a whole new operating system (for the phone part) or going to the LG G8 (maybe a little less of a camera) but knowing how the operating system works since I have used the G3 and now using the G5. Great review! And damn good shots! I am still getting this camera, but can't believe there isn't a neutral or flat mode to use in creating the RAW file. (Well, actually I guess I can believe that.) How does the RAW file not hold more information than the processed JPG? That is the whole point of a RAW file in the first place. More information. The phone is using all of that sensor data from multiple frames itself for its magical processing, so why isn't one of those frames just simply the RAW file? I shoot neutral RAWs on my Nikon DSLRs, but am getting this Pixel 3 to go in the extreme opposite direction and turn myself over to what magical computational photography can do, but even with that I still wanted some decent RAW files just in case (when the internal JPG processing goes haywire), and that sensor is not teeny tiny. Oh, well. If things are good that 58mm Moment lens could eat into that wide angle issue for $120 (plus compatible case). For me, that's still kind of wide, though.

I read a little more about it after watching your video and and saw that Google even bakes its RAW files some, which sucks if that baking makes it harder to recover a botched JPG edit back into a more "normal" photo. I will watch your video again to see if your de-noise recovery trick was on a JPG or DNG. Thank you!

Were you running with the March software update? It should have solved the performance issues you experienced. Also, did you play around with HDR+ enhanced in Camera mode and face retouching in Portrait mode?

I indeed was running the latest software update. It isn't really a performance issue it is a limitation of either software of hardware from what I have seen on pixel phones. I did indeed play around with HDR+ and enhanced, for photos of people you will not want to use enhanced due to shutter lag and the need to be very still. I also played with face retouching as well. Sometimes I would apply the middle option most of the time I would turn it off.
